This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Video Games you should play if you love D&D???
« on: September 29, 2020, 11:14:38 PM »
Here's the article from Looper.com (never heard of them)
https://www.looper.com/253323/the-video-games-you-should-play-if-you-love-dungeons-dragons/
What are your thoughts on the article?

Played any of these games?

How much D&D-like are they really?

Or is it "D&D-like" in the same way as Diablo, WoW, etc?

I liked Tyranny and Pillars of Eternity 2.

They are not action RPGs like Diablo. But i probably liked Pathfinder: Kingmaker the best, of recent years. Kingmaker is a lot like tabletop Pathfinder.

I did not care for Divinity:OS 1 or 2 though others love them.

And if you can stand aged graphics at all, Baldur's Gate 1+2, Fallout 1+2, and Planescape: Torment are all worth a playthrough.
