This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I got Battle Brothers during the Steam sale.

It's addictive, but at the same time it's really more of grind than anything else. You don't win because of strategy (or tactics) but simply leveling up your guys, picking the right build, and getting the right weapons.

I want to like that one, and I've restarted campaigns in it several times.  It seems to be the kind of thing I should like, but there's something so un-fun about the early game I just can't get into it.  Advancing past the first few encounters or missions seems to be pure random chance.

I've put about 50 hours in it and I feel the same way y'all do. I love it conceptually and it does have its moments but it's just such a grind and so much comes down to min maxing your build.

Well As my profile pic would imply I'm a big fan of HOMM3(Heroes of Might and Magic) I've been playing that again lately, also Lords of the Realm 2, Masters of Orion 2 and a bit of Jedi Academy.

Currently playing Dragon Quest Builders 2, which is a cross between a JRPG and a Minecraft-style block builder.

It is a bit odd, in that I completed the main storyline a while ago, but haven't unlocked all of my building tools yet. There are lots of things to do after you finish the game.

Friday The 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition on Nintendo Switch.

I'm not very good at it. Since I only got it Sunday night. But when I was playing Jason once? I got a TPK on the Councilors. And I didn't really understand the controls when I did it.

But the game is fun. No matter which side you are on. I enjoy the experience regardless. The game is an adrenalin rush.

The only flaw I see with the game? No jumping for any of the characters. But you don't see a lot of jumping in the movies. So there is that.

Ultimate Slasher Edition has all of the DLC that was in the prior versions of the game. Without the paywall. And there are no microtransactions at all in this version. You get the whole game, But without any monetization nonsense.

I've spent the past week working on Dragon Quest XI S for the Switch. I've been a fan of the series for thirty years now, and the latest entry does not disappoint ...

But I just spent today doing Dundrasil and Lonalulu, so those of you who've played the PS4 version will understand when I say the heartstrings have been tugged mightily.

Just rediscovered Tekken. Tekken 7 vs my kids..... ^_^
I play these games to be entertained... I don’t want to see games about rape, sodomy and drug addiction... I can get all that at home.

I've spent the last 4 days playing the Outer Worlds. I like Fallout and Skyrim,  and this game is along those lines. The big struggle is weirdly about corporate capitalism vs anarcho-communism with a few other variations thrown in. Of course,  it's done with typical Fallout styled humor,  so is not too preachy,  and you can complete most quests however you fancy. Best part so far is almost 18 hours of play without a single crash or major glitch.

Played a a bit of Outer worlds on the Microsoft Gamepass, but not as much as I'd like, as I got the 3rd edition "Arkham Horror boardgame", which I've been roping friends into playing :D

Hmm, Also "Dawn of man" , a sort of Bronze age Village survival game has got some updates recently, so been trying that out.

Off and on been playing "Hexxit Minecraft" with my kids.

I just finished The Other Worlds this evening. It was pretty good. I missed some of the gameplay options from Skyrim and Fallout 4, but this thing runs really smoothly and I only had one glitch all game (one of my companions just mysteriously died while on my ship...I reloaded the last save and she's just fine) and the story for this one turned out to be really enjoyable. I'm glad I'm done though...I probably played for about 4hr/day for the last week and that cut into my reading time (for games and more).

I got sucked into Everspace when I'm not playing Classic WoW. It's highly addictive, spend money on perks, get 1% more hull points, etc., make a run, eventually die somewhere, repeat.
And to it's credit, I'm finding new stuff every now and then. Just when I think I've seen all the content, I run into an alien structure or a new type of enemy ship.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

I just finished Deep Sky Derelicts and enjoyed it very much.  It's a turn-based RPG with comic book style graphics.  You explore derelict spacecraft and alien ruins.  It is very similar to Darkest Dungeon if you have ever played that.
Playing: John Carter of Mars, Hyperborea
Running: Swords & Wizardry Complete
