This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Playing AoE 3 Definitive Edition here.
After they botched the release (as they always do, AoE2 DE was the same mess) the game is now in an acceptable state.

OK, I had a look last at AOE3 night (I did get it on release and it was not great).  Seems a lot better.
Will have a play with that at some stage properly.

After a long-overdue PC upgrade, I am playing Rebel Galaxy, which is a fun lightweight space trader/combat game from 2015. It's more cinematic than sim. It was made by a small studio, so the scope of it is not that huge, but that is actually a plus in my book. It isn't a space dogfighter, it has more of a 2d naval feel to the combat. For $20 on Steam, I'm enjoying it.

still playing Warframe daily, love Noita and Approaching Infinity.  Yeah, my favorites are all over the place; 3rd person grinder, 2d platformer/puzzler/crafter, and a 2d rogue-like.

Been playing a lot of Holdfast: Nations at War. I'm also looking at getting back in to Stellaris but it's been a long time since I've played last and apparently there has been many changes.

Currently playing Five Nations. It's a retro RTS that came out this month, with a 2D spaceship aesthetic. The game uses 2D sprites, and the maps are 2D rather than 3D even though the setting is space combat so there are unrealistic situations like walls in space and such. The playable sides are the five nations of the title: the United Earth Federation (composed of humans and SIRI-like AI helpers), the Sylon Collective (composed of mind uploads united into a swarm intelligence), the Athrael Theocracy (roswell greys with a history channel aesthetic), the Thorun Empire (a medieval civilization bootstrapped by the tech of alien invaders), and the Zhogarn (SST-style bugs). Pretty standard scifi stuff.

I've just started playing 'Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Ultimate Edition'... I only bought it because it was 75% off on Humble Store!
Seems a fun game but already a bit repetitive.

I picked up No Man's Sky and started playing it, and it's doing quite well to scratch the old, 80's era Starflight itch I had.

Tip: Scrape together the nanites and grab the scanner enhancement that boosts credit reward for scanned plants and animals. It's definitely worth it.

I've wrapped up my first play through Rebel Galaxy. It was a good game, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Now I have to dig up enough enthusiasm to finish off the walkthrough of the game that I wrote up for GameFAQs.

After that, I should probably go back and finish Horizon: Zero Dawn.

There's a sequel to that game called Rebel Galaxy Outlaws. It isn't the same type of game but, instead, a standard dogfighter. Unfortunately, the game has a serious balancing problem where you can end up with story missions that can't be passed. The guy that made the game, as well as the original Rebel Galaxy, sold the game as an Epic store exclusive. Afterward he got some push back (because that was a thing back then) and decided to quit being a programmer (and went on a podcast called all gamers assholes). Since he was the only programmer working on it, these bugs will never be fixed and the post-launch support for the game will never come.

You can get it on Steam now but don't pay full price. And if you do play it, don't do mining or too many non-story missions at the start of the game.

Yeah, word of mouth on Rebel Galaxy Outlaws hasn't been too good. I probably won't play it, as 3D dogfighters aren't really my thing.

It's a shame they won't do an actual sequel to Rebel Galaxy, though. That was a solid game.

I'm noodling around with Genshin Impact on PS4. It's fun to wander around in, too bad the characters don't have much personality.

I'm playing Blasphemous and enjoy it. Would like to play some underground RPGs that I discovered recently, but I'm working a lot in this period and can't start anything too complex  ;D

I'm back to playing Battletech currently with an SM6 Hate Boat that used to be a Banshee and three runny jumpy punchy laser buddies.

Got a link to a YT video or whatever where he has a go at Gamers?
Would be fun to point and laugh at him, ;)

I reinstalled No Man's sky recently, as there's been so many updates, it's worth another look.
So far, it's been pretty fun and certainly has a lot more content since  I played it last some years ago.

Agreed. I will give full credit to Hello Games for what has to be the comeback story of the goddamn decade. I can't think of ANY game -- not just vidya, but any -- that's managed to turn things around this well.
