just FYI, most of the gold box games are available on gog.com

Anyone remember these? They were a few years before my time but I'm very tempted to pick up a few to try them out.

The Butcher

Lots of SSI classics on sale, but from the Gold Box set, I only see Menzoberranzan. Where are the Ravenloft (Strahd's Possession, Stone Prophet) and Dark Sun (Shattered Lands, Wake of the Ravager) games?

Are not the Forgotten Realms games "gold box"?

Pool of Radiance, Azure bonds, etc...?

Uh, yeah. Menzoberranzan is not a Gold Box game, nor are the Ravenloft and Dark Sun games.

For the record, the Gold Box series (officially named in Unlimited Adventures, but referred to that way because of...erm.. being sold in gold boxes) is Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Champions of Krynn, Secret of the Silver Blades, Death Knights of Krynn, Gateway to the Savage Frontier, Pools of Darkness, Neverwinter Nights (AOL), Dark Queen of Krynn, and Treasures of the Savage Frontier.

Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday, Matrix Cubed, and Unlimited Adventures used the Gold Box engine, but did not come in gold boxes. I count them, some people don't. Spelljammer Pirates of Realmspace uses the Gold Box combat engine, but otherwise a different interface. Some count it, I don't.

UA is the black box for the gold box.

Before the UA community went to hell I did alot of sprite work for UA. MSH, Star Frontiers and Gamma World.

Awesome! Did it actually go to hell, or just dissipate? I still check rosedragon every so often, but it's pretty much down to Nol Drek's yearly Judge's Guild adaptation.

Omega

Havent heard from Nol in years.

I quit out after they abandoned the original e-group and started getting really unpleasant about their "rights" to use this or that. But telling others they didnt have the right to do the same thing. It got pretty messy after a while and I had had it.

Pretty sure the Magic Mirror is still up? Past that who knows. Wish they had finished the Star Frontiers mod. I sprited the whole set!

Some moved over to the UA emulator site whos name I forget. Last check it had not advenced in functionality in about five years. Coming soon!
