This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The new Driver game sounds like a mixture of Inception meets Life on Mars meets the chase scene from Matrix Reloaded. I wonder if it's as awesome as that sounds.
The demo is ok but protrays a ridiculously sunny almost cartoony cityscape whose accruacy I cannot attest, though the demo environment is limited. You can't run people over (they leap out the way), but you can 'shift' into other cars like an Agent to take over the driver and go from a different perspective, warping back and forth.
Bonkers.
“Ghost Whistler” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Only the original Driver on the Playstation 1 ever lived up to the hype, and every release since then has been poor, bugged and required patches.

If you think this Driver will be something special, didnt Ubisoft(Atari) release Wheelman which had a similar unsuccessful concept.

...and will it have Driver 1's ultra smoove and sexy soundtrack?

That, and Interstate '76, have to have had the coolest soundtracks ever laid down for a driving game ever.

(Never played Interstate '82 and can only hope they had a period-proud soundtrack as well)
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

It's (The former) Infogrammes that use the Atari name now, not Tom Clancy's Ubisoft.

I think I played the first game for a while, and it was okay, but nothing really remarkable. Can't say that I'm interested in this one either.
