This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

And here I was thinking they had actually finished making the Shadowrun mod for Neverwinter Nights.

This is just as good though.  But I have a sinking suspicion it'll be an Xbox 360 only game.

Official website.

It'll be for both Xbox 360 and Windows Vista.

For a minute I thought this was going to be about the old Shadowrun titles for the SNES and the Genesis.

I loved that old Shadowrun game...that's what I thought this thread was about too. Man, it's been years, and then I was just thinking about it again yesterday for some odd reason. I hope they do this MMORPG right, I've always been fond of Shadowrun.

Ah, not a MMORPG, just a Graw-type XBOX Live FPS eh? That sucks.

One of the disaffected masses from Dumpshock, I presume?

I've known for a while that they were scrapping the background and resetting the timeline, but I didn't know they were going first person shooter with it.  Then again, I barely pay any attention to console games and don't care for the whole FPS or MMORPG thing so I guess I didn't care too much either way.

Actually I feel for ya Jong, this game looks kinda sucky...at least from a Shadowrun setting POV. It's looking so generic that they coulda made it using any setting or no setting at all and still made the same game. Are the characters gonna be some kinda heroes instead of money-grubbing, coldhearted mercs? I have to say though, I do like the whole "starting-over" aspect...it would be really hard to incorporate all the previous timeline stuff into it. I just think it would be better to do it as a MMORPG. Ah well.

Guilty, your honor.

Jokes aside, it'd be an understatement to say that people are unhappy.

I can only guess about your sources. ;)

My problem is not that it is a FPS or that it isn't a MMORPG (I'd personally go with a Fallout-style game instead, but I'd play anything), but that it is a generic game with some Shadowrun paint sprayed over it. It's such a waste of a license...

And it's not even set in Seattle. For a first SR effort I'd have set it in Seattle.
