So Halo 3 ODST, the extension to Halo 3, will drop September 22. It's going to have a small campaign where you play the Rookie, an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, who's trying to locate his buddies after they dropped over New Mombasa, just as the Prophet of Regret jumped into slipspace to reach Delta Halo (events of Halo 2).

There will also be an online multiplayer CD, which is basically Halo 3's matchmaking with all the add-on maps plus the three, yet unreleased, Mythic maps included (Longshore, Citadel and Heretic).

But IMO the most interesting feature of ODST will be Firefight, or in other words, an up-to-four-play coop Survival Mode.

Here's the game play video

Looks like it's going to be sweet.

Boring.

Halo 3 is the most overrated pile of crap ever. It's gameplay is painfully anachronistic and totally bland. This just seems like the same thing with a different name.

No doubt it will sell like the proverbial hot cakes.

One day we'll get some decent games on the 360.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Ghost Whistler

Indeed we will.

It just seemed a shame to me, when i first played H3, that they didn't really evolve the gameplay. It's not what I enjoyed at al: the maps seemed unimaginative and small, I've never liked any of the weapons or the inflated super jumping you can do, nor the lack of variety in your in-game appearance (either spartan or arbiter). Plus I didn't like constantly being spawn killed by mouthy kids. But that's every game online.
