This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I was a little surprised by my results:

You Scored as Storyteller
You're more inclined toward the role playing side of the equation and less interested in numbers or experience points. You're quick to compromise if you can help move the story forward, and get bored when the game slows down for a long planning session. You want to play out a story that moves like it's orchestrated by a skilled novelist or film director.

Brendan answered me. Was anyone surprised by the results of the quiz. I wasn't, but I was curious if anyone else was.

Added: I wasn't surprised because I'm an awful bastard of a player, and have analyzed my playing style up and down to figure out what makes me such a stone cold bitch to GM. Turns out it is because I'm naturally a GM, and I'm not satisfied unless I'm running things. :D

You're probably a military buff who wants to have the chance to think through complex problems. You want the rules, and your GM's interpretation of them, to match up what happens in the real world or at least be consistant. You want challenging yet logical obstacles to overcome.

Several questions on combat focus, few on story direction and other elements of game play make it a bit flawed.

The list of possibilities in that test aren't enough. I bet it would even say Pundit is a story teller.

I am mildly surprised. I knew it would be a toss-up between Tactician and Storyteller, but I expected Storyteller to come first.

It does seem like a relatively short list ofd questions, though.

Tangentially, I find Laws' "game style" archetypes to be a handy way of dissecting players' expectations. Player A is a Storyteller with a Butt-Kicker bent (e.g. a guy who enjoys epic battles and high adventure), but Player B is a Method Actor with Specialist tendencies, and a whiff of Tactician (e.g. a guy who always plays eccentric, cerebral problem-solvers a la Sherlock Holmes).
