This is at the very top of my most anticipated games list.  One of the co-creators behind the upcoming title is none other than Dennis Detwiller himself.  If anyone can handle a solid story packed with super powers and conspiracy theory it's him.

Then there's this trailer which makes it look like crazy fun.

My pre-order is in as soon as I can manage it.  I'm going to lose myself for hours in this game.

The only thing that would keep me from playing Prototype is if Blood Bowl actually makes it's June launch date.  When Blood Bowl comes out I expect the hours and days from that point on to blur into one blood scrummage.

Prototype for when I'm home alone, Blood Bowl for when I'm having drinks with friends.  Sounds like a great month to me.:)

There's a pre-order bonus item now from Gamestop.  It's a figurine of the main character with this funny little warning included in the fine print.  :)

QuoteWarning: This figurine is so awesome that we can't ship it to prisons because of its potential to be used as a weapon.

The geek in me is excited!

I'm looking forward to this game too. When I saw trailers on G4 I wanted to play it immideatly!

Other games I was looking forward too but then fizzled were

A: Bioshock 2

This however ended when I heard I'd be the big daddy. And as much as I like little girls. That's lame.

B: Dead Rising 2

The idea of fighting off zombies in what appears to be Vegas sounds intreaguing. But I havn't heard any word of them fixing the problems such as time limits. I mean seriously. What game makes a sandbox with time limits? Infact, no game should have time limits.. ever..

C: Diablo 3

Nostalogia. But I saw the trailors as "lol MOAR HOARDES111ELEVEN111!!" Christ. Didn't Diablo have enough hoards? I mean I know this is going to be real time combat but Jesus... Speaking of Jesus...

D: Dante's Inferno

It's going to be to Catholiscm what God of War was to ancient Greece. That sounds really awesome. And they seem to be keeping the monsters pretty accurate to the descriptions described in the divine comedy. (How exactly was this a comedy? lol!) But with only two trailers, I'm starting to wonder if this game won't flunkout because they want to try and make it mysterious and wait till the last minute to spoil it.

Idinsinuation

The trickle of information they're releasing has me blah on the subject of Diablo 3 as well but I'm not lying to myself, unless Blizz fucks up royally, I'll be playing the hell out of that game.

Dead Rising 2 still has me excited because time limit or no, I can still kill massive amounts of zombies with a wonderful variety of weapons.  I honestly could care less about a game's story if game play variety isn't there.  Dead Rising had tons of ways for me to do what I wanted and that was killing zombies.

I've heard rumors they're working on a No More Heroes 2. (Wii fans finnaly have a non-casual game to enjoy)

The funny thing is, as I suspected. The guys who made No More Heroes originaly intended to make a deal with Microsoft and get it on the Xbox360. It's style and mature themes just suited them better, and he knew this game would appeal to the everyday American audience rather then weaboo kids.. But Nintendo convinced them to make it Wii exclusive cause of a lucrative deal and saying that the combat would be perfect for the wii-mote. And at the time it seemed like a good idea.

I don't like this new trend in videogames of doing crappy sidegames to make money. Mowing yards, serving drinks. Whatever happened to I just killed people and they bled gold coins? I'm a fricking crazed assassin with a lightsaber. Why in the HELL am I going to get some random oddjob to make money when I can just kill my way to riches?

Ummmm...perhaps you didn't get that No More Heroes was a critique of modern videogames?

The shitty oddjobs were poking fun at all the bullshit modern games do to extend their playtime.

Also, look at the "hallway" level. Showing that the 'gameplay' of most games (including itself) is incredibly simple. Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda 51 are a bunch of crazy bastards when it comes to game design and everything they make has at least a few layers to it.

Oh, and your first line is total flamebait, as the Wii has plenty of non-casual titles, many of which (MadWorld, HoD: Overkill, the Conduit, Guilty Gear XX accent core +, Punch Out) have come out or do come out real soon.

I played this game.  It was simply "Okay".  I beat it in 4 days (and I'm not a big play-5-hours-a-day gamer).

For those who want a good super hero game and have a PS3, I would sooner recommend playing inFAMOUS which released just before Prototype.  Prototype is good and all but most of the gameplay is taken directly from Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (and for good reason; it's the same people that made both games).

inFAMOUS is a bit more novel and borrows more from games like Assassin's Creed and has an actually decent storyline (whereas Prototype's storyline is very mediocre in comparison).

For those without a PS3, though, Prototype is an okay game and after you get past the learning curve, the gameplay is very fun. :D

I'm playing it now, having just finished inFAMOUS. I like inFAMOUS better, but I warmed up to Prototype quite a bit over the weekend. The story is leaving me blah, but I'm liking the game play.

Ghost Whistler

it's good, but not great. I don't really enjoy being rocketed up the arse every two seconds while fighting a million hunters though.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Yeah, the destroy this base type missions are definitely more challenging in the latter half of the game.

Still, it's about the right level for me: I manage most missions on the first try and occasionally run into ones that i have to work at.

I just wish the game would recognize when I wipe out a base full of personnel via stealth.
