Title: Outward
Post by: Kyle Aaron on February 26, 2021, 07:00:49 AM
I've been playing this computer game Outward, it's medieval fantasy but you are not a Chosen One so you start off sucking - and you have to eat, sleep and drink. Gritty.

I am absolutely bollocks at combat, but that's okay. In many cases you can run in, find the loot chest, kite the monster away from it, loot the chest, and run out.

As the AD&D1e Player's Handbook said: "Avoid unnecessary encounters."

It'd be fun doing that tabletop.

It has nice music, too, almost oriental.

So far it looks good, and I can recommend it. Anyone else had a go?

I gave this game serious consideration.  It looked to have a lot of the things I enjoy.  Brothers got Valheim, so we went with that instead.  I will give it a try later in the year (too many games on my comp at a time makes for sleepless nights).  I would recommend Valheim if you enjoy the perspective of some survival as well as some encounters its better to run.  I have played a good bit of Kenshi as well, which is hard to describe fully, it sort of takes playing it to see if its for you or not.
