This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Loved that and GEV back in the day, funny though: they were mini-games! ;)

Why so big?

Firstly it's got just about everything made for OGRE in. Secondly the OGREs and a good deal of the terrain is 3-D, thirdly all the card stock is seriously heavy duty, and finally Steve Jackson is insane.

3D? So is it a "mini's" game now instead of a mini-game? Looks fun.

Assembled so far.

The bone pile:

The main map:

One of EIGHT GEV map tiles:

The tray:

All in all ~30 lbs. which means it was about $3.33/lbs, which I think is a fair price for game these days :D

Note: this was NOT the kickstarter edition, which included even more stuff for the backers.

30 lbs.

I think it will be cheaper to book a vacation in the States and take this back as hand luggage rather than to pay shipping.

Opaopajr

Don't some carriers limit carry-ons to 25 lbs.?

That said, it is satisfyingly enormous. Carry on Steve Jackson, carry on.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

In the first outing the Paneuropian infantry distinguished themselves by grinding the Combine OGRE to a halt mere miles from the command post.
