That said, . . . it's bad, guys. It's like a super generic low budget shovelware single-player MMO. There is no polish to it whatsoever, and even the menus are ugly as sin. I get that it's still "in development," but it's still a ways from being not embarrassing to share with the general public. Sketchy link spam ad campaign, utterly uninspired and unpolished trailer showing gameplay reminiscent of the late 90s/early 00s MMOs, yeah . . . not holding my breath.

What's "shovelware?"  I've not heard that term before.  And what's a "single player MMO?"  I thought the second M stood for "Multiplayer?"

Shovelware is a catch-all term for usually(but not always) cheaply produced software meant to capitalize on gimmicks and/or piggyback on someone else's success. The mobile games market is currently mostly(I'd wager over 99%) this. I used this term because the game looks like a cheap knock-off of those late 90s/early 00s MMOs. You'll never catch me calling EverQuest a good game, but even at its worst it blows what I saw in the linked video out of the water.

And I said single player MMO because from the video it looks like the graphics, combat, and other play elements were ripped right out of an MMO, though I saw no evidence of this being a multiplayer game itself. It's shorthand.

As a playtester for a few massivly single player games now Id say at the moment your graphics need some work to be competitive. Or at least interesting enough to keep a potential buyers attention. The graphics and interface at the moment look to be about GameMaker or Flash level.

Think about how you can improve the look without a total overhaul. Though if this is early demoing then its understandable it looks as it does. For example compare the early Blockade Runner to the current version before they closed it down.

Oh, yeah, the pitch was dreadful. Like the dude wasn't even trying. The additional info - and I do use that term loosely - in post #5 was just sad.

The reason I ask is that Sparky called it an "open world."  If you're following a story, it ain't an open world.
