Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ghost Whistler

"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Decided you guys had a point on looking at it - Site's been pulled.

Oh, whatever would us poor mortals do, without the Enlightened Elite to censor our thoughts? Beforehand, even?
The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

Vaecrius

pulled!?

...huh. Apparently sigvatr put up an apology on the site for a while too.

::googles further, finds this leading to the real explanation::

QuoteI'm going to come out now and say that almost everything I've said anywhere is a huge pile of bullshit, including the apology and retrospect article I wrote. I put the apology up as a ruse to get my host to give me my account back (because I was sucking the poo poo out of their server).

I am an enormous troll.

I just trolled more than one billion people.

I consider this a monumental success.
Couple download links in that thread. Haven't tried them, caveat download... or.

I'd have probably disliked the game, but sheesh, I can figure out what's wrong with it my own little self. I don't need some internet watch dog to tell me.

Also, ooh, someone's been offensive on the internet! Horrors! How ever will we survive? How can the poor muslim community ever recover from this horrendous insult from some random troll? The poor dears must need therapy!

(Well, that last sentence is accurate, considering some of the stuff that comes out of the middle-east, but...)

You know what I consider worth getting angry or upset about? Problems with family members and friends. Anything from a punch in the face up.

Random internet twits don't register long enough to either ignore or slap them down - One short post.

Y'know, maybe I'm just a bit slow or blinded by free-speech ideology, but it's finally starting to dawn on me just how dickish this game concept is - at least as written by someone who has had no connection to any sectarian or political violence in the Middle East. (If I'd been told it were written as a piece of gallows humour by a displaced Iraqi my reaction would be something else entirely without changing a single thing in the game but the author credit.)

But it's still a fun enough pickup arena shooter that I'll just keep playing in private and ignore what the moving dots I'm shooting are supposed to represent (a surprisingly easy task when you're engrossed with playing at higher levels).
