Knights of the Chalice is a 2D RPG with turn-based combat for Windows. The game uses the OGL 3.5, the set of rules at the root of the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 role-playing game from Wizards of the Coast. Create a party of four adventurers, explore the Crimson Coast of Mindrel and fight valiantly against the evil Council of the Slaver Lords, domineering Giants, fiendish Demons and scheming Dragons.

KotC has been available for a long time from the developer's website, http://www.heroicfantasygames.com (http://www.heroicfantasygames.com), but it had not been available on Steam thus far. The game is scheduled to be launched on the Steam platform on 23 August 2019.

Some information about Knights of the Chalice 2

KotC 2 has been going through a long, long development phase and the engine, toolset and first adventure module have now been completed. KotC 2 was designed from the start to be a framework for a series of adventure modules. Some modules can be connected and form part of a campaign, while other modules can be stand-alone games.

A Kickstarter campaign is planned for the future adventure modules of KotC 2. The first KotC 2 adventure module, Augury of Chaos, and the KotC 2 module and campaign editor will be released to backers as soon as the campaign ends. In KotC 2: Augury of Chaos, your Heroic Party confronts a group of Evil Fanatics allied with various Demons and Fiendish Dragons.

KotC 2 is planned for release on the developer's website and on the Steam platform. A Mac OS version is likely to be made available, too.

This looks neat, but it seems a bit odd that you are holding a Kickstarter when the sequel is apparently done. Why not just sell the game and the first module now?

Although now that I look at the screens, the sequel seems to have worse graphics. Tokens for characters?

Hi all, thank you for posting and for your interest in the games!

Quoteit seems a bit odd that you are holding a Kickstarter when the sequel is apparently done. Why not just sell the game and the first module now?
Yes, I could do that, but it's probably better for me to use Kickstarter now to facilitate the creation of future adventure modules. It seems to me that the best way to get people interested in the KS is to offer the first module and the toolset as a reward to KS backers. That will also allow me to improve the first module before its official release. For more details, you could read the interview I had with RPG Codex some weeks ago, as they asked the same question and other things too.

Doom, I hope you'll be able to try the free demo on Steam. Thanks again, best regards! :)
