Don't know I just got the email and I'm at work so I can't do anything (but brag) about it. I can say it's a Madd Max style setting that you drive around in cars causing destruction. From what I've read it works like Guild Wars where there is a large persistant world but it's a lot of the 'in between parts' are random and instanced for you when you leave central hubs.
Beyond that not sure what the NDA says or what I can even really tell until I start playing.
It is a very cool game. With highly customizable vehicles. I played a friends betatest and then applied myself but haven;t gotten in.

The hours have varied widely throughout the beta testing. My friend told me that the hours you could logon would vary from week to week and even chnage daily sometimes.
Yeah the whole limited play hours is extremely annoying. I hope that's temporary until they get fixed whatever it is they keep patching. As it is now most of the hours would be while I'm at work. Fortunately there is Saturday, should be a glorious day for assaulting some auto's.
Dear Bagpus. I'm not sure if you are still having trouble downloading the program or not from the ftp site. However if you are don't just dl the small auto_installer program. Instead use an actuall FTP program like Flash or WS_ftp or any real FTP program and have it download the 700mb program.
I'm very curious to see how this one plays out. It really strikes me like an MMO version of Master Blaster. It's a very different game concept, that's for certain.

See I had problems with that. I got and installed the downloader. It downloaded the entire 700 MB and then froze at the very end for 1/2 hour before I cancelled it. I then just downloaded the full installer with no problem.

I tried using their auto-installer and let it go for about 5 mins with it trying to connect before my patience ran out. Then fired up Flash FXP and just dl'd the 700mb install in probably a fraction of the time. The rest was smooth sailing from there.
Well still haven't actually played it yet mind you but the install went cleanly.

Yeah I'm not very pleased so far. The testing was supposed to open Wednesday at 10am (PST) so here I am Thursday morning and still not able to log in. Well here's to hoping I can get signed in tonight when I get home from work.
I have 4 GB free on my hard disc and it keeps telling me I've runnout of disc space trying to download the 1st Bin file, as it keeps going past the end of file. I'll try some FTP software tonight.

Yeah just get an ftp program and download it straight. So much easier. Plus most ftp software will do resumes should something happen along the way.

Yeah that seems to be the case from what I was reading on the forums. I hope that this is just a temporary situation and that they open it up 24/7 down (hopefully sooner then later).

I put about 3 hrs into it. I can't say that I like it at all. The graphics are very dated looking. The game itself felt very flat. I'm sure that as you get more and more into it, it may get better. But the core drive around and shoot things never will change. I can't see driving around and shooting things drawing $15 a month out of me. Especially becasue the driving itself sucks and the shooting is uninspired.
I can't even think of what to suggest to make it cool, without making it entirely different. Better graphic scale, better controls, more to do in general. I don't know. I was reading on their forums and some people absolutely love it. I am not one of them.
