It took a while, but I finally got my hands on the new (and gorgeous) Warhammer-themed board game by Fantasy Flight Games. Playtest and review will have to wait until I'm done with exams, but here's a couple of pictures:

I've heard tell that it is very frickin' cool and fun to play....but as I'm cash strapped at the moment I can't pick it up to find out for myself. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Beyond some problems with the cultists components I've heard nothing but good things.  Haven't played it myself yet but some other friends of mine have and they love it.  They also say that while you can play it with only 3 players the game can feel very one sided.  With 4 players though all the balances are in place and the game really shines.

Ooh, so it really only works with 4 players? That's a bit of a dealbreaker for me. I have friends that I'd LOVE to introduce to the Warhammer World, but if I have that many over, we could just play a RPG.

We usually hit the boardgames when we're missing a guy or two.

FFG also sells a Warhammer card game. You could try that.

Yeah the game works with 3 and is best with 4.  You can't play with more then 4 and anything less then 3 would be a hack if even functioning at all (each player playing 2 gods for example).

If you are looking for something to play with only 2 players and want to stick to Warhammer themes.  Warhammer Invasion the card game is pretty good.  Card games aren't really my thing but I still enjoy it as it feels more war gammy in it's design and play.

I've played three games so far, all of them with four players. I'll be writing a (glowing) review in the coming days.
