Ok, they're updating star trek, TOS, with modern CGI and such to make it more appealing to a modern audience. Well, I have a suggestion on the same vein.
Let's see if we can get some people to update classic, excellent computer games to modern graphics and physics engines while leaving game play and plot elements intact.
I have loved Deus Ex since I first got it, and BTW I was actually scared when I realized that in the scenes where you see the NYC skyline that the WTC towers were not in it. (Deus Ex was releases long before 9 11)
Still, while it was awesome in it's day, the graphics are dated today, and the constant scripted deaths where everyone falls the same way and into the same position are bit dreary, tho the work put into the settings was and still is awesome in it's detail, depth and scope.
So I would love to see deus ex updated to, maybe, the doom3 engine but leave the plot, voices and such intact. (I may be the only one who does, but I liked JC denton's voice.)
Likewise systemshock two would be great with new graphics, especially the ones that were wasted in that piece of drivel known as doom 3.
I know some guy who claims to know all about the way the computer game biz works is going to stick his nose a mile in the air and pompously chide me for my naivity, then obnoxiously the tiresome economics of why this can't be done, and I really don't want to hear from this guy so I'll tell him to fuck off in advance.

Deus Ex Invisible War had a great physics engine, though the game wasn't as good as the first one, and as I said in other thread "I wish there will be a new version of Deus Ex, besides IW"

Now we're talkin', I remember having read somewhere that some hardcore fans were working on this by using the Half Life 2 engine developed by Vault (I think it was the HL2 engine, but I don't quite remember), SS2 will be a blast with a new engine, but maybe it will be even better if the guys on Irrational games started to developed SS3, wich now that I think of it is quite weird given the amount of success that SS2 had.

Who me???:huhsign:
Check out BioShock. It's the new game from the System Shock guys. I think it's for the XBox 360.
I'd be happy with some remakes, to tell the God's Honest. The Tactics Ogre series, Colonization, Power Monger and Metal motherfucking Marines.
That's all, really. I wouldn't want to get greedy.
M.U.L.E.
PONG
and
E.T. The Extraterrestrial (Those pits would look great in texture-mapped 3d)
Master of Orion 2
Master of Magic
History of the World
Lord of Conquest
Colonization

Did you know they actually made playstation 1 remakes of both those games.
I played ET. It was absolutely terrible.
Probably worse then the landfill quality atari game...
Pong had, like sheep in the way, or something like that....

Oh yeah... and I want X-com
I have Xcom, but no passwords. :(
I mean a new X-Com.
Thanks for the offer though...
a new Grim Fandango, definitely a new System Shock (and Bioshock looks sweeet!), and a GTA with the scope/scale of Oblivion and the same amount of character customization and rpg elements, a new Fallout (i know Bethesda is doing one, so here's to hoping it's good), and a new Jagged Alliance...
yup, that's what i'd like.

Bioshock is due to release for next year, and it'll be available for 360 and PC, dunno for PS3

Let's hope so, I didn't really dig Fallout Tactics, maybe because I was 16 when it was released, I should give it another try, now that I'm a little more matu...well just older.:p

nope, your first impression was absolutely correct...
they took everything unique, charming, and wonderful out of the Fallout franchise and commanded its bloated stinking corpse to endless turn-based combat.
hopefully Bethesda's Fallout will be a worthy recipient of the "Fallout 3" title.
LucasArts Outlaw.

I agree. That game was great.
Entirely unsuccessful, more influential than anybody knows and great.

swooon.
GTA: Mirrorshades...i am
SO THERE.
I think Morrowind should be released with the Oblivion engine, except the objects should be a little less 'skittish' (walk into a room and everything on the table flies off) and it should get rid of that shitefull simplistic system, the Morrowind skills were far better. I think it was dumbed down a little for XBox.
In fact, I'm replaying Morrowind and have deleted Oblivion.
(PS: System Shock rocked)
