This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So...Fire Pro Wrestling has finally to America on the PS2. The Fire Pro series is (in my opinion) the greatest wrestling game series ever imagined.

Here's a little history lesson for you guys:

Fire Pro-Wrestling is a Spike developed game series (you know, the guys who made all the good wrestling games for the N64) that's only been available in Japan for the last 20 years! Now they're FINALLY releasing the latest in the series here in America.

Fire Pro Wrestling is built from the ground up to be only for truly hardcore wrestling fans. Fans of all of Pro-Wrestling. It's a very intense series, with more options and is truer to form than any other wrestling game period. This is almost a Pro-Wrestling simulator...more than a game.

Here's some of it's features:

* Hundreds! of wrestlers from the past and present. Since they don't have any of the licenses, they just change the names of all the guys (for example, the "Great Muta" is known as "Buddha Bob"). You can, however, easily change all the names back. This is also the ONLY game that will have recreations of actual INDY wrestlers, like Mad Man Pondo, Sabu....hell I bet even Mike Rapada is in there!

* Gameplay tries to simulate a actual wrestling match, rather than a WWE TV show. Being a good wrestler is all about timing rather than button mashing and golf meters. The campaign mode is actualy about having a good show than winning matches.

* Every option is there. You want an Electrified Barbwire, exploding ring deathmatch? You got it! You want an UFC no holds barred shoot in an octogon ring? You got it! You want an 8-Man Tornado Tag Elimination Cage match? It's in there! Sadly...no Ladder match.

* 8 Players. Not just for Royal Rumble either. Tag Team, Team Elimination, 8 way 2/3 falls Deathmatch. Any way you and your friends want to play is available to you.

* Create an Everything. Wrestler (of course, it's the most deatailed create a wrestler imaginable), Belt, League, Ring etc. etc.

* Value Priced $15. It's cheap because it's an easy port of Niche Market game. The game will is awesome though...I promise!

So... I got it... any other Fire Pro fans on the board?

I like Fire Pro and I wouldn't disagree with you that its probably the best wrestling series that's out there. I've got Fire Pro D for the Dreamcast, but I don't have the new PS2 version yet. Mainly because I don't own a PS2. I'll probably pick it up sometime anyway like I've already done for a few games so I won't have to hunt it down when I do eventually pick up a system to play it on.

Are there any sites out there yet with pre-made custom wrestlers?

There's Fireproclub.com

They've got some downloadable saves...Perhaps the Japenese section (for the Japanese game, not in the language Japanese) will have some...It's ben around longer.
