I'm wish the loot spread was a little broader.  Great rings and weapons, weak armour

I have 15 good rings, I can wear 2.
I have 4 good necklaces, 2 of which are identical and the identical ones are the super powerful ones.
I have found minimal nice enchanted armour.  I'm wearing Daedric armour (Heavy) and only the pants are enchanted and those with just lightning protection 20%.
I have 2 nice helmets, both are huge quest chain rewards (Thieves and Fighters guild end rewards), not loot I've found.

I've got a decent quest shield, but its falling so far behind in terms of raw protection.  The damage reflection isn't worth giving up, but the non magical shield provides like 10 more armour

Weapons have been great, I've found everything under the sun.

Most of my armor upgrades have been through the Sigil Stones.  I'm a bigger fan of continuous effects than charged effects.

There are a few quest rewards that are really good, but generally you can make better items through Sigil stones or just enchanting your own items.

So far my favorite places have been the ruins.  I cleared out Mascarcand (I think it was called) the other night.  I got way down in there, and found a really nice stone on a pedestal (one of those stones you can use to charge items or whatnot).  I took it, and suddenly, all hell broke loose.  Two Guardian Zombies walked up newly extended stairs, and the King of Mascarcand appeared through a secret opening behind me.  I was but level 5, and I had to run my ass off to stay alive.  Unfortunately, all the exits were locked with Very Hard locks and I was sure the King was probably carrying the key.  Slowly, using divide and conquer, I was able to take down the two zombies (hard bastards!) and then went after the King.

Somehow, my longsword broke, and all my armor was trashed, very quickly.  I switched to the Debaser and hit him twice, and it broke.  I had never used it, and it was at 100 when I started!  He must have run out of magicka, because he stopped hitting me with his spells (which hurt, BAD) and I had to beat him to death with my fists!

So far, the most intense battle I have had, and so far, the most fun! :win:

In my new game I'm running a stealthy assassin type, not falling into the same pitfalls that made my previous stealth character a total pussy.

I'm using Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul and AF Leveling.  Two thumbs up.

I may try these out when I am bored with my current character.  They look pretty tight.

It's much more enjoyable, I'm finding, but you do need a new character.  And the level mod makes it so you need to rename a file to level normally in a different game without it.  I don't get the feeling everything in the world revolves around me...  I go into dungeons and have to sneak past the big bad, for instance, rather than fight...
