This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

re vampire stuff.

Ok that's just plain cool.  Think I may actually see if I can get infected.  Could be a lot of fun especially since you an lower your vamp level back down.  Very, very cool.

Is it possible for the body to resist the disease? I am sure I saw a message saying I had contracted it (can't recall the name of the disease atm), but since then I've not seen or heard anything more about it, and I'm fairly sure more than 24 hours has passed.

Ah, you do need to sleep, so if all you've been doing is waiting then nothing will happen (it might also be more than 24 hours, didn't really keep a track of it since I didn't know I was affected).

Also there's a nice mod on Planet Elder Scrolls that cancels out the aged look of the first vamp level (don't mind looking like an ancient vampire if I'm level 4, but looking like a geriatric on level 1, no thanks)

Edit: Ah, yeah once you've got Haemophilia then you're on route to Vampirism, only a cure disease can stop it then

Ok not as cool as Vampirism I did find a secret enterance to a pirate cave inside a bandit cave.  NE of I think it's Chendal (I'm at work so I don't have my map with me but it's the town NE of the Imperial City) there's a cave on a ledge behind a waterfall.  Inside you'll find bandits after dispatching them look behind a boulder that sticks out from the wall a bit in the big room with the sunken floor there's a switch there.  I'll let you see what happens after that.

Another nice one, Nornalhorst, elven ruin, straight east of Skingard castle (though a fair trek), once again bring cure disease potions ;)

It takes 3 days for the disease to mature into Vampirism, not 1.

Ok, so if I got a Cure Disease during that time, it would explain why nothing's happened.

Does praying at those wayshrines do anything? I get a message, and an icon that suggests a spell was cast, but what does it do, if anything?

They give attribute bonuses that last about 10 minutes.  Mara's adds to Will.

Anytime you have the icon in the top right corner meaning you are effected by something check on the last page of your spell screen it lists any effects you are currently being effected by.

Sadly, in both Morrowind and Oblivion this was always the toughest thing for me to find out about my character.  I never seem to look where they want me to do find out if I've been poisoned, or what have you.

Also check the last page of the magic info section of your character information, lists all the effects currently acting on you and where they come from

So turns out my lizard mans 75 resist disease is a pretty damn good immunitiy against being casually turned into a vampire.  I'll have to see if this keeps up if I purposely try to become a vampire now that I've joined the Dark Brotherhood.

A wierd question maybe, are we going to keep both sets of threads on Oblivion open (cause we're doubling up with the Nothingland topics)? Not that I mind elevating my post count ;)

I see no reason to close a productive thread here, or any reason why bullitt would want to close a productive thread there.
