This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ghost Whistler

Isn't there supposed to be a warmachine video game coming out - or rather a game set in the IK universe.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Blackhand

RPG's are better online, I daresay, than a non-interpretive video game of a wargame.

Warmachine is not an RPG.

Also, games go really fast.  Online play might not be very fulfilling for some.

I'd really like to give Hordes a try, but the price of the warpacks is ridiculous for how little you get, no matter how playable. And that's assuming there are players. Bit of a shame really as it does look quite good.

Theres a beginners battle pack due in september for warmachine that contains enough models for 2 forces(17 total) plus a bunch of other stuff like rules and counters etc all for $100 which works out to about £60ish over here so i may grab that once its out and see if i can get my lil bro into the game aswell :)

Met a gamer at a local shop and pointed him towards this thread.  How big are the maptool files for WM?  Have you had any problems with hosting games using maptools offhand?  The tabletop rpg group I'm in uses it on laptops around our table to help with the dm's prep time, but I don't have much experience with using it over the 'net and such.
"Dr.Who and CoC are, on the level of what the characters in it do, unbelievably freaking similar. The main difference is that in Dr. Who, Nyarlathotep is on your side, in the form of the Doctor."

Take care Nothingland. You were always one of the most ridiculously good-looking sites on the internets, and the web too. I\'ll miss you.  -"Derek Zoolander MD" at a site long gone.

all the tokens from the core book add up to 88mb, the campaign properties and such probably add up to less then another 10.
