Coldsnap -- thoughts?

Anyone at the prerelease? Liking the new set/ hating it?

I was very disappointed. Not in the set, I haven't seen it. That's what I'm disappointed about. The WAR ROOM used to be the place for pre-release tournaments, then they moved to smaller quarters, then closed. The pre-release passed to the GAMES PIT, and I was on the email list to be reminded when a new pre-release was coming up. Went to every one, because they had a "midnight madness" flight, which is right when I get off work.

Then the guy running the tournament quit, and he SWORE that he would never let the email list be used because it can be sold to spammers. The new guy who took over was nowhere near as professional as the first guy, and I've tried several times to get the new store to add me to the email list, and they never have. i don't know why, it isn't hard.

Plus, they've apparently eliminated the midnight madness flight, as well as having the pre-release on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Now it's Sat/Sun night, which is when I work. So I've missed many of these. Plus there was the year I didn't play because I didn't have a job and couldn't justify the non-essential purchase. I used to play at DRAGON*CON but I haven't been in 3 years. This year and last year I was working, and the year before I wasn't working, thus no money. sigh.

I also thought it was bizarre to have coldsnap so long after ice age.
