This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

City of Heroes is back

Oh jeez, costume drops. You just reminded me of a hilarious bit.

When inventions got released for City of Heroes, there were recipes to make costume pieces. Things like wings, rocket boots, etc. But Cryptic/Paragon made the drop rate like... one tenth what it should have been. Oops.

The result was a textbook example of supply and demand. Rocket boots in particular were VERY popular, but they didn't drop much if at all. Result? The rocket boots recipe on the marketplace was even more expensive than a maximum level unique set enhancement recipe.

This was fixed eventually, but I still found it amusing.

Whoops, with STO I should clarify I'm talking about Starships, not Uniform pieces.

Not that it really matters to me; I got the OS movie uniforms (maroon with black bellbottoms, baby!), and I've decked out every Feddie crew I have in those.

(Now, if I could get a endgame-level Movie Constitution-Class starship without having to spend a fortune or choke a hobo, that'd be nice too!)

Yeah, if it isnt from the rep system, vanity skins that aren't in lockboxes can be counted on one hand.

The sheer amount of greed Cryptic shows in STO though is truly appalling. 30$ for ONE SHIP. One pack of FOUR ships, 50 keys and 300 lobi is priced at freaking FIVE-HUNDRED BUCKS! No. Im not joking. 500$.

It's like Star Citizen but there's an actual game there.

Its weird. STO has alot of story to play through, and theres differencec for each faction even. Champions has alot of story too. Though new content is now few and far between.

Meanwhile Neverwinter they CUT content, then cut more. From a game already very anemic on actual story. First all the adventure story areas lost their ending group battle. Then they removed one of the nicer looking campaign areas. Then they replaced that with a draub looking new one. Then they removed seven whole adventure story areas and cut more content.

That's weird, I could swear when I was playing Star Citizen earlier today I was playing an actual game that exists and is playable. But obviously you know better.

There are many arguments against CIG you can make. From the long development time, poor management and communication, and focus on pointless features. But you need to stop using 5 year old information and criticize the game as it exists now.  Because right now there is a playable game. It's not very good. But it exists and I find it bizarre when critics try to claim the game doesn't exist when it does.

Shut the fuck up. I watched you throw an absolute temper tantrum because you get answers you might not like, and then ran around renaming all your threads?

and I honestly can not say that I really enjoyed playing it, although it is good. It's about taste
