This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

C'mon, dammit!  I can't be the only guy playing this beauty!

I've read some mixed reviews, but I'm enjoying myself pretty well.  I liked SotN better, but that had more to do with the novelty of the gameplay than anything.

Right now I'm stuck at a false ending, so that's a bit of a downer.

Where are you in the game?  Did you get the pre-order swag?

I was thinking of getting it but it sounded to much of a rehash of DoS and not enough to offer for a new game.  So instead I picked up Final Fantasy III.

After the dissapointment I got with my GBA SP I'm quite reluctant to get another handheld.
I'll just keep on playing pc games for now.

Yamo

The DS is definitely the best handheld system I've ever seen. Your decision, though.
In order to qualify as a roleplaying game, a game design must feature:

1. A traditional player/GM relationship.
2. No set story or plot.
3. No live action aspect.
4. No win conditions.

Don't like it? Too bad.

My thoughts on PoR so far:

Less oriented toward the obsessive completist than either of the last two games. Also more challenging, especially in boss fights.

I'm with you as far as that goes.  My old-school side tends to think that the "main quest" part of the game is just a warmup for the Richter/Maria mode that you unlock.
