Title: Bolt Action Campaign Books
Post by: 1stLevelWizard on January 01, 2024, 11:15:14 AM
I was looking at my Bolt Action books and I'd like to snag another campaign book. I currently have Market Garden and Stalingrad, and I really liked the Stalingrad book. That being said, does anyone have any recommendations for another? I thought about getting Ostfront or the new Case Blue book.

Any suggestions? I run Germany, the Soviets, and Japan.

Seems you would want one that either there were people to play with for it or, that you liked the models of.

Greetings!

I would think that Road To Berlin would be good, as well as Case Blue. I have heard good things about Case Blue, rules wise, and scenario wise--very creative, interesting, and varied. HOWEVER--I think to get the best enjoyment out of Case Blue, for example, you would want say, 1000 or 1500 points each of Italian and Hungarian forces.

Lots of good stuff for Germans and Soviets--but evidently there are some really cool Army Lists and special units and rules for Hungarians and Italians.

I'm also thrilled about Road To Berlin. More German and Soviet awesomeness! Also, you get a free miniature--MARIA LEMINSKAYA!!! She is of course, the world-famous Russian girl that was on traffic duty in Berlin at the end of the war, dressed sharply in her Red Army uniform, waving Soviet flags, and presenting an enormous, happy smile! Evidently, the rules allow you to use her as a spotter, FO, or I suppose a NCO as desired in regular games. Still, however she is used, the miniature honouring her is just fantastic and such fun!

Thanks Shark! I think I'll pick up Case Blue, and start the process of collecting Italians. I've always thought about getting a small force, just about 1,000pts, but I'm open to getting more. Probably end up being a summer project.

You are very welcome, my friend! Indeed, the Italians sound pretty interesting, especially with their new rules and units detailed within Case Blue. As I understand, Case Blue also includes a new nation--Slovakia, and provides an Army List and units for them. There is also rules for the Croation Legion. The Croation Legion were troops recruited from Croatia in the Balkan region, and were regarded by the Reich as excellent troops.
