Oo what game is that?

We received a number of boardgames through Kickstarter during the past few months:

  • Dark Souls - The Board Game (just the core box, still got a lot of expansion material coming up for this one)
  • Maximum Apocalypse
  • Deadly Premonition: The Board Game
And I picked up The Lost Expedition and Massive Darkness.

I funded the 2nd printing of Folklore: The Affliction on Kickstarter.

Currently into :
Legendary: Big trouble in little China boardgame

Played it a few times now.
I want to play it at least one more time against Ching Li and then after that mix it up with other Legendary games for some mixed themes.
Maybe the Alien Legendary game.

Kanagawa is great mix of interesting rules, quick play and stylish design.

Looks neat. I read Massive Darkness has a very similar set of rules, only slightly streamlined.

Necro!

Just "invested" in 3 new games for my Birthday:
Lords of Hellas (Looks gorgeous and I've heard good things about this one)
Big Trouble in Little China (One of my favourite films, figures are gorgeous although it is a co-operative game)
Cry Havoc (Picked it up a while ago but never actually played it - hopefully going to give it a few plays soon)

Hoping that they don't all suck! I'll let you know how they play.

Trying to get a copy of Talisman 3rd edition. I had that as a kid and it was awesome, 4th edition (FFG) is crap by comparison.

They go for ridiculous prices on ebay, I just want something I can play with my kids, I don't want to collect the damned thing!

Talking of ridiculous prices in eBay, what are people smoking? Why do they think I'd pay many times the original price for something pre-owned? Some guy wants £85 for an expansion that was £25 back in the day. Seems to think £80 is a reasonable discount on that asking price.

If something is out of print, prices will always be higher, and in some cases much higher, depending on how good the game/expansion was and/or how rare it was. It's just the way it goes.

Actually theres no correlation usualy. People just assume that "discontinued = jack up the ebay price x10!"

We've seen people put up games still in stores for 10 to 20 times the sale price.

Just recently picked up 2nd ed Betrayal at House on the Hill. And one of my players really liked the retheme version, Betrayal at Baldurs Gate. So I may pick that up too.

I got the Dragonfire boardgame recently.
I was thinking about getting it for a while.  It was on sale, so I weakened and got it.

It's a DnD 5e style boardgamegame/Card game.

Massive darkness is closer to Descent, at least with combat resolution, but a bit more streamlined.  I have both games, and I like both.

Just picked up Betrayal at Baldurs Gate and the Tomb of Annihilation module from the local FLGS and both look great. If can find it may nab the ToA board game too.

Saw the 2nd ed Mansions of Madness board game there. 100$ for a board game that can not be played without an APP? Fuck no!
