I've bought a few boardgames over the last few months.
Star Realms, a Deck builing game in a Scifi setting.
https://www.starrealms.com/Multiplayer competitive only. The rules are pretty simple and a game lasts about 30 minutes. so a good game to break the ice.
Hero Realms. Made by the same people who made Star realms.
https://www.herorealms.com/Same sort of mechanics with a Fantasy theme.
There's add on boxes to introduce Solo and cooporative play on top of the core Competitive Multiplayer.
DragonFirehttps://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/226501/dragonfireAnother card based game with a Fantasy setting and you run a character where its progression is saved in between sessions as you play via adding stickers and stuff that add abilities as you level up.
Actually quite fun... Sort of a Card based boardgame with RPG elements.
Middle Earth the Wizards.
This is a REALLY old card game based in Middle Earth and you explore areas going on adventures.
It's a competitve game I believe.
It was made by I.C.E. (Iron Crown enterprises) many years ago and I used to play it wayback, but lost the cards in one of my moves.
It's out of print now, but you can pick up cards online and it;s not that expensive.
I got an entire box of several 100 cards to play with on Ebay.
I haven't had a chance to download the rules and play the game yet, but I have some great memories of this game from years ago.
So far Dragonfire, Star Realms and Hero Realms have been a hit at boardgames meet ups I goto. I always seem to be able to get people to play those.
