Quote from: Ghost Whistler;416774unfortunately the game has dreadful connection problems. Again the CoD developers didn't bother to test. Treyarch said they were listening and made all the right noises but - again - it's bullshit.

But even so, there are some issues with the weapons that are beyond the usual shitty CoD hosting/matchmaking (nearly every match has had constant host migration to the point of collapse). The hit boxes are wonky this time around.

I have to admit, I noticed something with the Dragonov and the Olympia. Those are the only two I've had a problem with, but there isn't any point in sniping until you unlock the Walther. I've been murdering people with the Walther though.

The sniping is supposed to have been adjustted so people can't do that stupid quickscoping crap anymore, so it's possible they've gone too far. Ironically i'm more succesful with the olympia than anything else. only problem is that you can't pick a ranged weapon as a secondary tool.

You might be surprised how fast you can kill people with just the fucking Makerov hand gun. It isn't that bad for long range. I usually run around with a pair of them and it is awesome when I get up close.

The quick scoping was stupid. I never had a problem with it because no matter how good you get at it, you would still be better off with just an assault rifle. You can technically quick scope with anything, so in hard core you might as well pop up your assault rifle the same way and blast people.

I just didn't like it because it looks stupid, that and I can't do it.

Another thing that kind of sucks is the RC car. I swear I've probably used 200 of them already. It is like a predator missile you get for 2 kills with hardline.

Plus, I'm a big asshole with them. I like driving them under people's feat and making them dance. I wish there was a way to attack them to keep them from blowing up. I wasn't aware that C4 was so volatile it exploded when it is shot.

I would be surprised as I use it and it's just too slow.

The RC car is fucking stupid. All you ever hear is 'RC-XD in your area' every 2 seconds.

Is there enough to the single player to justify the game?

I am a very casual player and there's no point for me to consider the online multiplayer.

Cranewings

I haven't played the single player, but I watched my roommate play it for about an hour. It was so entertaining about 3 other people came over, drank, and watched him play because it is completely fucking intense.

Personally, I can't imagine it being more than 6-7 hours long, so I can't see ever paying 60 bucks for it if I wasn't going to get hard core into the online. There are LOTS of good single player games you will get a lot more time out of.

The SP has some missions that are real duds. Obn the whole it's better than the rubbish that was MW2. Not sure it outclasses MW1 because All Ghillied Up remains the standard. BO is however exceptionally brutal.

I cannot get the hang of the hit detection in this game though. At all. I'm sure lag is a major factor and until they get off their arses and address that I'm not entirely sure this game is even playable. I'm so pissed off witht the constant spawn, die, spawn die. Even offline the accuracy is off. I don't know what treyarch have done but the game has a completely different feel that I am struggling to get used to. They've also made some entirely questionable decisions: currency for EVERYTHING is ridiculous, shotguns as primary weapons was a bad idea and the requirements for Pro Perks are extreme: knife two consecutive enemies in 5 seconds? Why not just walk on water!

Shotguns as primaries?  Sweet.  That was one of the things that bothered me about MW2.

Two knife-kills in 5 seconds is probably doable if you're in the midst of a clusterfuck.  I'm pretty sure I've seen my wife do it in the other games.  (She's very good at these kinds of games).

I have it. I played all the way through the SP Campaign. I generally liked it. I really loved the River Boat mission. Storyline/Plotline is better than most Action Movies and I loved the Zombie mission that you unlock by finishing the Campaign. There are a couple of times that the clues that the NPCs give you on how to overcome something are drowned out due to the background effects, like the explosions but I turned on Captions and was able to pick up what they wanted me to do.

I've only got to play the Multiplayer Online one day, yesterday. It seems to be really hard to get onto a server but once I'm on I haven't had any problems. Earlier today the Server was down so maybe they are patching/fixing it.

As far as the RCXD, what I do is when I hear one the warning I try to make sure I'm close to something I can jump up on cause if you can spot it with a couple of seconds warning you can shoot it and blow it up. Doesn't always work but I've stopped it a couple of times. The other thing to do is to look for people who are running them, I've found them a couple of times and shot them while they are hunched over the controller. You can't defend when you are doing it. I'm only Level 12 and yes, I do pretty much sux at it but I enjoy playing it.

The only thing that I really don't like about the multiplayer is that I miss the dedicated servers that can be setup. I sometimes still play CoD: UO cause there are still people out there running servers that are fun.

I play Mutiplayer Local with my Kid and I'm hoping to setup a system link game sometime with some of his friends, I think that's be cool.

I generally like the rules changes they made. Shotguns as a primary are great if you got sick to death of snipers using their AA-12 as their primary weapon and staircase camping when someone managed to run up to the building they are sniping from. The shotguns are really good to, at least the later ones now that I have them. I worked people over on Domination when the flag I was guarding had some cover.

As far as the two knife thing in 5 seconds, it is like biting someone in a fist fight: even though it sounds like an awesome idea, if you TRY to do it you will just get your teeth knocked out. You have to wait for it to appear in your lap. Try going around the edge of the map and getting behind their spawn. If you know a good place snipers like to go, try to ambush them. Sometimes you can walk into the back of a room full of people looking at the same window. I like the new Pro requirements -- it gives you something fun and difficult to try to do. It beats the hell out of MM2's "get X kills at close range" for fucking everything.

As far as the lag, I've heard a bunch of people say they were patching it today. I haven't been on today, and might not be until Wednesday, so we will see.

knifing 2 people is one of the easier ones.

It's the same problem as the Contract system; great idea crap execution. Ridiculous requirements make the whole thing a waste of time. It amazes me that T think everyone who plays is caopable of fulfilling these ludicrous requirements. Just goes to show the arrogance of CoD developers - if they'd beta tested properly and if they'd considered people of a different skill level they would have a much better game. Until they get off their arses and decide to fix the problems BO isn't up to much.

I think in the case of cod, they hit the nail on the head of their audiance. For example, my kill to death ratio is 1.14, just over average. I can do all of the contracts I'm interested in. I've gotten 16 headshots in 40 minutes, Ive been the high score twice in an hour. I have slight of hand pro and hardline pro.

I find the objectives difficult, and I fail a lot, but I can do them, and I'm as average as they come. If people with a kdr of .7 could do them, they would just be an annoyance for everyone else.

I couldn't give a fuck what T think; they clearly don't care what I think. If they don't want people to play unless they are of a certain skill level then say so. I paid for a £42 game and I didn't pay just to sit and watch a bunch of cunts that spend far too much time online dominate me. It's fucking stupid.
