After the bummer of the WoD MMO, there is also good news. I came across a trailer for an upcoming video game version of the Cyberpunk 2077 RPG. I don't know anything about it, so fire away.
May I say that? Yes, I may say that!

Well originally it was thought due to the press-videos that Pondsmith was going to do another tabletop to go alongside it.

But apparently that dream was crushed. Maximum Mike is working on advising on the videogame.

On the PLUS side... it's done by the same studio as the Witcher. On the downside... NO TABLETOP game. (at least that was the last I heard)

I remember seeing this sometime last year.  I wasn't impressed.  It looks to be aimed at being a Mass Effect style shooty western RPG.  The fact that it's been a year and no new news doesn't bode well.

I'll say this about the trailer: it gave me inspiration to run a Cyberpunk 20xx game this summer, and I really liked the music so I got the Controlling Crowds CD from Archive.

Heh, yeah me too, for both.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

The only bit of information that I've gathered is how language is being handled. Language is going to be an important part of the game. The character can purchase languages with cyberware upgrades. The company also commented on how they want to hire native speakers of the language (probably bilingual) to do the voice acting to give it more authenticity.

To be fair, it's still years from release and they've got another game to publicise at the moment. No sense in doing too much marketing yet.

CD Projekt Red are apparently a solid developer, I haven't played any Witcher games though, so this sounds like it should be worth looking forward to.

To me it seems like it's going to be a game like Deus Ex. The Witcher team can pull this off.
