Title: Beware Pool / Billiards Tables
Post by: Razor 007 on October 17, 2018, 01:51:26 PM
They will eat away at your devotion to RPG gaming time.

I recently acquired my first ever pool table, and I've already played on it for 17 days straight, with no end in sight.  I'm having a blast too.  It's more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.

No, have you?  I would imagine it would be rough.

19 days straight, by the way....

You've got trouble my friends, right here in River City.  With a capital "T" and that rhymes with "P" and that stands for "Pool!"

Have you tried playing RPGs around the Pool Table?

There are lots of things you can do on a Pool Table apart from playing Pool.

Just imagine how many miniatures, and how much terrain I could set out on a 4 1/2 foot x 9 foot pool table!!!

Actually, since the felt is royal blue, it looks like a big ocean.

26 days straight on the table so far.

We *had* to play on a pool table earlier in the year. Local games club meets in a pub, pub roof leaks badly in the rain so they shipped about 50 of us downstairs and I drew the short straw for table space. Someone stuffed the pockets with paper napkins to stop the dice falling in...

Quite a few, I can assure you...  In high school, a friend's dad had a pool table in the basement, so we'd lay a sheet of plywood over the top of it and then spend entire days playing Warhammer 40k (the original 40k Rogue Trader version) on it.  We were limited far more by how many minis we could afford to buy than by the available space.

47 Days Straight on the pool table now.  I've spent a little time reading Lion & Dragon, and taking a few notes; but I haven't rolled dice since the pool table arrived.  I am trying to make up for all the years of longing for a nice table.  I wasn't just bumping my gums whenever I said I really wanted a pool table.  I was dead serious.

2 years ago, I jumped back into RPGs after a tremendous amount of time away from it, with this same kind of enthusiasm.  I have too many hobbies, to go all in on any one of them.  I have to split time.  I'm trying to jump start my pool game though, and get decent at it.

Life got in the way, and ended my pool playing streak at 47 days straight.

65 out of 66 days so far on the pool table.  Very entertaining and addictive.

But I've now covered the 9 foot pool table with RPG books, and I'm itching to roll up some characters, and throw some dice!!!

Enough of this nonsense!!!  It's time for 4d6 and drop the lowest!!!

Yes, but it is even more fun when you are.

10 months now, and I've only missed 4 days playing at least a little on my pool table.  I wasn't even in my home state those 4 days.

Getting a pool table has been awesome; but with the exception of D & D, it has starved all of my other hobbies, time-wise.  I haven't touched my other hobbies, since the pool table arrived.  I'm trying to make up for a lifetime of not having a table to play on.
