This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ghost Whistler

I don't get why this game got the negativity it received in the reviews. I picked it up second hand, reluctantly because of those reviews, and, despite the sadly diminished online community, i'm still waiting to be pissed off. The campaign is pure AVP and plays well (though differently for the Alien portion), yes its short but for the Marines it's pretty scary in that motion tracker way it should be. The difficulty level is just right for me (on Normal).

Some games seem destined to fail, which is a real shame when they're games you like or that deserve to do better. This is a franchise that deserve more success - anything that's not halo/cod deserves a break IMO, not just game over man! :D
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.
