Just curious if anyone has played any of the offshoot games based on AW, particularly Dungeon World and/or Monsterhearts. I've pledged on DW, and will be getting Monster of the Week (another hack/offshoot inspired by Buffy, Supernatural, etc), but was curious if others here had any experience playing or running the system

My group did some AW one-shots to try it and found it really interesting. Ive also pledged for Dungeon World and wait anxiously for it. ;)

But Im also curious to know more people experiences with it.

Reality Blurs has a Cthulhu-esque game using the same system coming called tremulus. I haven't tried any of the other games, but I'm liable to give that one a go, just because I like Reality Blurs.

I am LOVING the cowboy avatar thing that's spreading throughout the forums. That's awesome. :D

I saw mention of that on Facebook (I think), and look forward to finding out more. I really like Spectrum Games's Macabre Tales, so I'm interested in seeing this take on Mythos style gaming.

It's meant to be pick-up and play, apparently, supposedly with literally 20 minutes of prep (group and all). Sean Preston was talking about it in the Beautiful Brains chat the other night. He's been doing development diaries on his blog at the Reality Blurs site.

I've read the blogs I could find on the RB site, but I didn't feel it told me enough yet.

I've done two one-shots of Apocalypse World, one of Dungeon World, and two of Monsterhearts.

I'm not fond of Apocalypse World - the setting comes across to me as vague and confusing (psychic maelstrom wtf?), and the sex mechanics don't fit (as well as being weird).

Dungeon World was OK, but didn't impress me much.  It drops the sex things and the psychic maelstrom, but it also didn't seem to have a strong focus.  (As in, I didn't see how these rules enhanced the dungeon crawl experience.)

Monsterhearts I liked a lot more.  The setup was good, and there was a point to the high randomness.  In the genre of horror monsters in high school, and all the drama and romance was amusing and fit with the genre.

I'm looking into Dungeon World, but I'm going to hack the pieces out of it I think.

I got my print copy of Monster of the Week on Wednesday, and yesterday downloaded the pdf of Beyond the Devil's Reach, which is an adventure for Dungeon World. Started reading MotW, but haven't gotten far yet. The basic rules seem fairly easy, so I'm interested in trying it out.

Anyone know if the system has been adapted for superhero gaming at all?

I would be very interested in a supers version too, but havent heard of one.
Did you order the lulu version of MotW, because I am still waiting for my kickstarter copy and I am one country away from Mike, the waiting is driving me batshit.

Silverlion

I'd like to try and play one. I don't own them but I'd like to see how they play.
