This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Any RPG's based on the Middle East?

Ancient or Modern day, realistic or full of magic, it really wouldn't matter; I would just like to enjoy an experience in a desert civilization. :idunno:

Could anyone provide me with some suggestions?

I am only looking for video games, BTW.

The old Dark Sun games aren't really Middle Eastern in flair, but they do take place in a desert setting by and large, and are quite good, and feel more like a modern era CRPG than their contemporaries.

I think they also did one of the gold box titles based on Al-Qadim, which is like the D&D Arabian Nights pastiche setting.

Mount & Blade has a culture based loosely around the middle east and I'm sure there is probably a mod out there to make it even more so.

THere is a very old game called Conflict: Middle East Political Simulator. I don't know if it is still available for PCs (it was released in 1990 and set in the near future).

I don't know anything about this one, but it is called PC maker and seems to be a similar concept: http://www.peacemakergame.com/

There is also this general site on media and the middle east (which includes a number of pages on video games:http://www.digitalislam.eu/;jsessionid=0D3D2F084CFEA77CAAF16CB00A3F3B80

My character sheet was inexistant, and when I hastly made one the GM didn\'t care to have a look at it."
