This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

She got up at 6 in the morning to be first in line to get one when the shippment came in. This system is fucking awesome!

She also picked me up Call of Duty 3 and the gun to go with it!

It's nice to have a wife who buys you expensive electronic stuff.

Yeah, well this isn't the norm for us. We have a $50 limit on gifts for each other. I guess I had been talking about the Wii so much she figured that if she got me one I'd shut up.:D

My wife lucked into one for Xmas for the kids...it was November and she had been getting the "we have none" at a bunch of stores when she started checking around.

Then, she happens to be in Walmart (I think it was) for something else, and asks one of the folks - lo and behold, the truck had just arrived like 10 minutes before. This kid said he had already turned away 20 people earlier in the day as the truck was late...

I told my wife she should have bought three...

The game is great - though I haven't tried anything beyond the basics due to both money (lacking) and kids (lacking maturity). Bu they play it almost every day for at least a bit...they love tennis but don't bowl since my 300 game...

Congrats - and enjoy!

Congrats Mcrow...the great thing is, you'll both dig it and end up playing Wii Sports more than anything else! :D  ...or that's how it happened for us.

Nintendo brought the "Let's Play Together" vibe big-time as their answer to "nextgen".

I wish a pen and paper gaming company could figure out the formula and get it down on paper. :D

Yeah, not only did they get the "play together" vibe down but they didn't exclude any demographic, young , old or any color this system is a ton of fun.

I had something similar happen to me as James described - except it was 6 PM Dec. 22 and I saw 3 in electronics.

The kids were thrilled.

I was mean, though. I told them we were broke, so we just got something small, and all 3 got a jar of bubbles. Then I brought out the cardboard box with the Wii in it :D and then the rest of the presents.

You might be thinking of the longer handled skillets popular today, but I learned on one handed skillets (good for building the forearm and wrist strength!).  Of course, for spicing while you beat,

Mario Kart rocks!  You should get it, MCrow.  I got it for me, but my wife loves the game, and we play it all the time...together!  She's not one to like video games, so it was a pleasant surprise for her to like the Wii games, we just pre-ordered Wii Fit, too.

Yeah, Mario Kart & Wii Fit are both on my list.

I just picked up The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess yesterday and that game kicks ass.
