This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

All I need is a vintage toy cannon.  Blast.
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."

Age of Fable

Does anyone know if you can buy toy cannons that actually shoot, as in these rules?

There was going to be a fantasy version called "Little Orc Wars" (by Skirmisher Publishing), but they seem to have abandoned it (although they still have a forum for it on their site). Some of the artwork was pretty funny too - I remember a picture of a group of orcs holding a book called 'Medieval Siege Warfare' over their heads to protect them from arrows fired from a castle.

You're welcome, dude. :)

@ Age of Fable: I have no idea where to find such cannons.

When I was a kid you could get spring-loaded plastic cannon that would fire a matchstick. Don't know if they're still available, they might have been banned in our cotton wool-clad world...

I remember seeing a Youtube video that had someone firing off a tiny cannon. I don't remember the name or where, though.

Excuse the thread resurrection, was googling for the original version and found this thread, thanks for that link, it still works. And I have an update to this:

Skirmisher has just released the fantasy version:
