This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Am I backward for not buying Bioshock yet?

I have a PC powerful to run it faithfully, Amazon.co.uk have it at a reasonable price. So, am I an idiot for not buying it yet!

Begin the barrage and convince me to separate cash from my wallet!

Dude, it's art deco.

Have you played the demo?  I played five minutes of the demo and bought the game.  It's art deco!

If I ever had a moment of time for computer games, I'd have gotten it the day it came out.

Just watch the trailer again, that should do the trick.

I love that argument. I grew up in an art-deco obsessed North London and love it.

I think I'll get it when the next paycheck arrives.

Cthy

Its one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played.

Wish I had thought of it first :haw:

I just borrowed it--it wasn't exactly what I consider "replayable" (hence worth owning) its a good game though, enjoyed it immensely.

One of the Bad Guys (tm) turns his victims into "art" by encasing them in plaster.

The height of defense technology is machine-gun equipped robotic mini-copters powered by outboard motors.

Also, creepy little girls.

I don't believe in Forge Game Theory

I played the short demo. If I was into CRPGs I'd get it in a moment.

I love it - its brilliant, its beautiful and its FUN.  I really need to get off my ass and finish the damned thing.  I got stuck in an area, and I started playing Team Fortress 2 and Zombie Panic mod for HL2, and I just haven't gone back to it.

Melan

It delivers a lot less than it promises, and the ending is disappointing in scope - and yet it is still heads and shoulders above most other games out in the last few years.

Well, I bought it last Saturday. Sat down, turned off the lights and scared the shit out of myself for a good few hours. Loving it.

Thanks for the encouragement.

One of my favourite things so far is that I was checking out a cupboard and as a turned around, there was this horrid sighter with armed raised ready to hit me. He'd crept up behind me! And waited. WAITED! That scared the crap out of me, so different to any FPS I've played before. :)

Same here. Replayability is key for me, but Bioshock is just awesome.
