This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Big Trouble in Little China card game
« on: April 08, 2017, 10:26:28 AM »
I heard that there is a cooperative card game based on the movie Big Trouble in Little China[/b, which is a movie I find really cool. It is supposedly based on a "legendary" product line that has superhero games and firefly and perhaps others.

I'm a big RPG guy but basically have no experience with cooperative card games. Anyone here play BTiLC or other legendary games? Are they fun? Easy to learn? Require much setup? Any info would be appreciated.

I have the Legendary Alien game and it is great although the initial set-up was fucking ridiculous, ie. sorting the cards out of the box took an eternity. Mechanically it doesn't take long to learn and it seems like it could be tactically deep enough for a lot of play.

Hmmm. Set-up time sounds like a real drawback, but I like the simple mechanics.

It is one time set-up. Once done it isn't bad as long as you're careful to put the cards away sorted.

I had no idea they had done Big Trouble... I may need to check it out.
