This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Actually, I find 3:16 more likeable if I don't consider it an RPG. It certainly has some things in common with RPGs, but it's tailored to do one thing and only that thing; you get sent to a planet, and kill aliens. If you want to do something different, you're on your own.
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

And by your sword shall you live and serve thy brother, and it shall come to pass when you have dominion, you will break Jacob’s yoke from your neck.

I have no problem classifying the game as an rpg. But it's all style and no substance. There is nothing under the hood. No setting, barely any rules, which means ultimately nothing for players to interact with. It's a joke.
“Ghost Whistler” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

3:16 bores me, because of several reasons:

1st)  It's not a game system, it's a mechanics rules subsystem that leaves much much much to desire.
2nd) The game is stiff with Forge-tripe.
3rd)  The title. Constantly reminds me a "sport" some people use to watch and call a fighting competition although it's thoroughly scripted and choreographed, with a predetermined outcome.
4th)  It outright bores me, massively so. I started groaning when i read the meager booklet.
5th)  It's not about action and tactical achievements and clever planning, but sheer lack and pseudo-emotional repercussions of the (necerssarily) cutout cardboard characters, which (to me) is a massive and unsolved paradox.
6th) IIRC it doesn't even have what i would call an XP system to actually improve your character aside from certain "unlockable" gadgets and edges.

I just don't care about 3/16.

Based on his comments, I suspect Phantom Black is talking about the original freebie version (which, IIRC, was designed as part of a 24-hour RPG design contest or something). His comments don't seem to apply to the full version of the game at all.

There is nothing of logic to it.  I enjoy 19th century Russian novels, whereas most people don't.  You can pretend there are valid, arguable reasons - like length, pace, complexity and so on - but it always boils down to a matter of taste, for which there is no accounting.  At best, we can only point to some of the underlying causes as we see them and be as open as possible to discussion.

Or, you know, flip out because someone expresses a different preference.  Whichever works.

I couldn't get past the caricature of Ron Edwards just inside the front cover.  I know that's a shit reason to disregard a game, but that's how I roll.  It's tainted by association with the King Cunt of Gaming.

Uhm, no.
I got my PDF at rpg-drivethru, thank you very much, Sir.

‘3:16 bores me because…’
‘4th) It outright bores me, massively.’
I extracted ‘It bores me because it bores me’ from your post in my earlier reply because I assumed most readers would have the basic intelligence to realise I was pointing out the absurdity of that (il)logic. Not you it seems.

Also,

Now I wonder, do I care that you don’t care? Um, amazingly, no.

I guess by now some of you must be thinking why am I even bothering to engage with this moron? Probably the same reason that we respond to trollock’s posts: when it comes down to it, baiting and teasing the pig-ignorant is good sport. Yes, yes, I know, we should feel sorry for them, but come on, we don’t have Victorian freak-shows anymore, or the Colosseum, although I suppose in the UK we do have Big Brother.
