This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Help with InDesign RPG Rules Book
« on: October 09, 2015, 10:13:40 AM »
Hi

The Elthos RPG Core Rules book as almost finished, but some of the InDesign work inside of it is really kinda of awful... in particular it has a lot of tables that were constructed (please don't ask why, I didn't do it) with separate line elements glued together to make "tables".  Other issues include that the friend of mine who very kindly first worked on it didn't use a free font, and I don't want to spend the $120 to buy it.  Another issue is he didn't link paragraph elements so that the words flow from page to page.  In other words, while finished (almost) and looking pretty good when printed... internally it's a wreck.  It's 70 pages.  I'd love to get a quote on how much it might cost to fix it up, and add an Index (I can provide the words list).

You can find the rules book online as is here:

PS - All that said, despite it's internal flaws, my friend did a superlative job taking the rough draft I originally had in MS Word and turning it into a work of art.  I can't thank him enough for that.  But the internal issues make working on the document much more difficult than necessary and I'd like to get it fixed up.

Thanks!

Not so much looking to get paid...

I am a graphic arts professional (prepress technician and graphics designer), I would be interested in working on this project. I have little interest in getting paid, as it would be "hobby" work to me, but rather would like a credit in the book for doing the work, and copies of the finished product. If you are interested in discussing this further, contact me at shuddemell@gmail.com, and we can discuss the particulars.
