This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Benoist;654272Tracy Hickman (and a large team) didn't "make Dragonlance work, dang it". It was bad, and contributed to make D&D suck, from my standpoint.
And yet, for me, it's what drew me into D&D.
Though to be fair, we never wanted to play "The War of the Lance". We wanted to play our own heroes, in our own stories, within the setting.

Doug Niles and Sean Reynolds were two of the best employees TSR ever had. They certainly penned many of their best products.

File Off The Serial Numbers sounds like a good product, and it's only a buck.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

Quote from: random-wizard;654314What is your opinion of the UK series of adventures? I'm just trying to get an idea of what you like and what you don't like, and why.
I do not know the UK modules enough to give you a fair answer.

Also, to be clear, everything I have heard about Margaret Weis indicates she's a very nice person (I haven't heard that much about Tracy Hickman, the person). Doug Niles seems to be a nice guy. Sean Reynolds I know personally, and I count him as a friend (and God knows we've debated a bunch of stuff over the years he and I, so that's not like we agree on everything all the time). This has nothing to do with getting personal or whatnot. It is a matter strictly related to the game and what I think about it.
