SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Didn't happen. I had to cancel due to some personal issues on my end.

Quote from: Dan Davenport;961774Huh. My announcement thread got shut down on RPGnet.

I didn't see it, but if it mentioned both Mr. Desborough and Gor without mocking both, then that should do it.

Trond

Huh, I just found this info from RPG.net:

"    Apparently Dave Arneson was a fan of the early Gor novels, and a few elements cropped up in OD&D and the Blackmoor supplement, mainly Tarns in the monster list, and various types of slaves in another. "

I have played D&D only occasionally, but I can't remember any tarns. Can others confirm?

I'd bet they had followed the Ents and Hobbits;).

It makes for an interesting mix.

In a version that might have had best been depicted by Herve Vallechaize?

"The salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of whom will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesn't even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it."

I just mean "removed for IP reasons";).

And I'm starting to have a nagging suspicion that the chat interview with Grim might be delayed for quite some time.
Though I hope to be wrong, of course. But right now, my faith in humanity is hitting a low point, so I can't help it!

Keep the faith. I'm working on it. :)

OK, I promise that for now, if I don't keep it, you wouldn't be listed among the reasons;).

As an aside, I just found in the books something I disagree with.

And yes, of course it's a minor thing - making myself a Kaissa board might well turn out to be harder:D!
