This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

-- Spectrum's Lovecraftian Horror RPG Arrives in Softcover Format!

Spectrum Games is pleased to announce the release the black and white softcover version of Macabre Tales, a dominoes-based role-playing game that seeks to faithfully emulate the type of "weird stories" penned by H.P. Lovecraft during the 1920s and '30s. The game is intended for use by one narrator and one player, but there are detailed optional rules for multiple players as well. Macabre Tales forgoes the use of dice in an effort to better model the meticulous, exacting nature of Lovecraft's stories, opting instead to employ the use of dominoes.

According to designer, Cynthia Celeste Miller, "We released the PDF version on October 30th and were blown away by how well received it was. Sales were brisk and the reviews were stunningly positive. Since then, we have gotten numerous requests for a physical print version of the book, which is why we're so happy to finally bring it to the gaming masses."

The softcover and PDF versions of the game can be downloaded here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?cPath=4364&products_id=96123

There will be a full-color hardback version released in the very near future.
