This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I'm pretty much done with the rules portion of the book, and have a small list of playtesters willing to try the game out. Just like its predecessor, gathering the audience's feedback is a priority.

QuoteA game where the GM gets to kill the player. Unless, the player uses strategy to win.

I think you mean 'A game where the GM gets to kill the character. Unless, the character uses strategy to win.'

Killing the player is probably illegal in quite a few places, even if the game rules do allow it.

But yeah, there's some interesting stuff on display in these snippets. Can you explain the basics of the game system - how skills work forex - so I can get a clearer understanding of what I'd be buying into?

Haha you got it man! let's use "character" from now on. :)
I'd love to discuss some in depth of the system, although I'm strictly forbidden by the Dwarven Council. Politics man...  They got me working day and night, Sometimes I'm thrown into the dungeons for not working fast enough.

I appreciate your interest, and hope you stick along for the ride.

Ooh here they come! Gotta get back to work.

Would it actually kill you to adress the questions posed to you?
Take into consideration that not everyone here is familiar with your secondary career as a blithering idiot. This is your chance to do good.

Spinachcat

How is this a "dark fantasy" game?

What makes it "dark" in actual play versus other fantasy RPGs?

Understood. You go for it, bro. But perhaps you'd pose this question to the Dwarven Council for me? 'Hey Dwarven Council Dudes! Potential customer comes and asks polite pertinent question about the game system being touted. Should I... A: Answer that question and encourage his custom and interest; or B: behave like a Grade A shit-stain and fob him off with a half-assed evasive answer? Which do you think will work best?'

I'm looking forward to what the Dwarven Council says. Do share it. You know them dwarves are over-fucking-flowing with wisdom and a desire to enhance customer service.

QuoteI appreciate your interest, and hope you stick along for the ride.

Let me think that one over. Okay. Thought about it. Fuck you, you bag of arrogant shit. I posed a reasonable question out of genuine curiosity, and you behave like a fucking gimp. I was genuinely interested in your game; now I hope it fails in oh-so painful ways.

QuoteHow to deal with overly aggressive folk in a professional manner.

How about you simply answer polite, pertinent questions, and avoid making folk overly aggressive in the first place, asshole? Dozens of respected, professional game designers are really happy to discuss system specifics and mechanics, answering questions from interested fans to create engagement and interest.

Note my use of 'respected', 'professional', and 'game designers'. You don't fall into any of those categories.

And on that note FelixGamingX1...

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately there's no law that commands a developer to spill their secrets just because you've asked them nicely.
I'm not the bad guy for not sharing what you've nicely asked me to share with you. I nicely told you, I'm strictly forbidden to share that. I'm sorry if you're having trouble accepting it. As the adult here, please ask your parents if it's normal that you start verbally abusing someone because they kindly denied to answer your question.

Thank you for your interest, please know I'm a real human being, working hard to deliver the best trpg you've ever played.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Felix' day-to-day is dictated by an actual council of dwarves that only he can hear. It would make perfect sense.

QuoteThank you for your feedback, unfortunately there's no law that commands a developer to spill their secrets just because you've asked then nicely.

And you're quite right. But here you are sharing pages with various bits of game detail that are going to provoke questions, so you're not exactly being Mr Top Secret.

QuoteI'm not the bad guy for not sharing what you've nicely asked me to share with you.

What you could've done is said something along the lines of 'the system's still in development, and I'm ironing out a few kinks, but it's basically this, using this, with some special stuff that will be revealed in time.' And I would've said: 'That's great, thank you, looking forward to more, Will subscribe to your updates.' But you didn't. You become all cod-Mr Top Secret with your Dwarven Council shit, and really, it's pretty fucking lame. No, it doesn't make you a 'bad guy'. It just makes you look like a real asshole.

QuoteI nicely told you, I'm strictly forbidden to share that. I'm sorry if you're having trouble accepting it.

By who? The government? Your shareholders? The FBI? Your Significant Other? The Mormons? 'Strictly forbidden to share that'. Yeah, right. As I said, you could've handled it soooooo much better, but you're treating it like you're on the verge of releasing the cure for fucking cancer.

QuoteAs the adult here, please ask your parents if it's normal that you start verbally abusing someone because they kindly denied to answer your question.

I did. They're fine with it.

QuoteThank you for your interest, please know I'm a real human being, working hard to deliver the best trpg you've ever played.

Then please, pretty please, with fucking sugar on it, don't act like a prick. As to whether or not it'll be the 'best trpg I've ever played', well, y'know, I'd like to think maybe it is. But it seems that you're 'forbidden' to say or prove why, so forgive me if I don't believe you.

Yeah, maybe that's it. Dwarves, or the Moonies.

Okay quiet frankly, you're not contributing to the thread. I appreciate if you're trying to help.  I believe I've already picked up your message. So I will kindly move on.
