Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Hello! This is Greg with Dueling Dragon Adventures. Some of you may have seen us on Twitter or might already be following us. If so, thanks for your support! I know it's cringy for my first post here to be an advertisement, but I wanted to put ourselves out there.

The Chronicles of Aeres is an old-school setting for D&D 5th Edition. We're like your favorite 80s fantasy flick injected with the best of the genre's history from Tolkien to C.S. Lewis, Dragonlance, Redwall, the Chronicles of Prydain, and plenty of movie influences too, like the Dark Crystal and the Secret of NIMH. But we're not a kitchen sink--my goal was to make a cohesive, sensible setting for heroic adventure based on the fantasy of my youth.

What do you get with our main setting handbook?

-360+ pages of heroic, high fantasy adventure. Fully illustrated. And when I say that, I'm not baiting you. We have many full-page, full-color scenes and tons of unique character pieces as well.
-A complete setting guide with many new thematic races, several new classes and backgrounds, tons of new destinations, and lots of new NPCs and organizations to build a campaign in the world. We're not just based on pop-culture, but also fairytale and myth.
-A warm, nostalgic feeling. People have compared our feel to 2nd Edition. Our book isn't a corporate machination burped out by an assembly line of writers. What we do comes from the heart.

Why Aeres, and not the Forgotten Realms or something similar?

I already mentioned how we're not a kitchen sink. But our themes are laid to bare. Our setting is old-school fantasy in a storybook style. We have chivalry. Codes of honor. Good versus evil. The hero's journey. Mythical archetypes with our races and classes. But also a loathing for despotism in the Tolkien vein. Yet, our books don't reflect the modern body politic. We're here for RPG players first and foremost, and we won't preach to you, except to preach about how awesome old-school fantasy is. We wanted to bring back old-fashioned fantasy sensibilities to a 5th Edition world that seemed to be lacking them!

So if you want a fully cohesive setting to dive into and build a campaign around, or just to mine for ideas for your own world, then Aeres is for you. Check us out on DriveThruRPG. We have a hardcover book as well, and a complete expansion already available:

Love the concept of a rat city (or kingdom) and the artwork looks great!

But I only do hardcopy.  Get print on demand and I'm in.

Ah, we have physical books available! https://dueling-dragon-adventures.myshopify.com/collections/all

Our main book is Smyth Sewn and gorgeous, but many rules have been tweaked since its release and it includes an errata sheet.
Padfoot Alley is ready to go, no revision necessary, and it matches the PDF!

I ship these out myself. PoD of our main book on DTRPG would be like $80 and the quality would be inferior!

Both of our books include the digital version free of course, which will be sent to you as a DTRPG voucher. We'll also throw in an 11x17 poster of our world map if you get both.

Kickstarter's doing alright, but we could always use more help! I really want to reach our hardcover goal.
