This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Love the cover. Totally want to put that in front of players.

But WHY should we be interested in your game?

WHAT sets your game apart from all of the other choices out there???

HOW does your game bring more fun (or different fun) to the table?

Basically, the game have the same advantages as "Into the Odd", but focuses on classic weird fantasy aspects instead.

So, you have a set of extremely simple rules (core rules fit on two pages) easily accessible to newcomers and veteran players alike, and character generation takes just a few minutes. The characters are feature-based (choose a new feature each new experience level), but more traditional class-based character rules are included as well (Appendix C). Combat is fast and brutal due to the lack of "to-hit" rolls: the damage goes directly to HP, and afterwards — to the STR Score, with a risk of being knocked out or worse.

The simplicity of the rules allows Referee to generate encounters, monsters, NPCs, and magic items "on the fly", and there are a couple of examples and random tables to help him with this. You could also easily convert modules and other stuff from other systems (monster conversion guide included as well).

Overall, "ItDR" might be useful for someone who doesn't like excessive amounts of "crunch" in their RPGs and prefers "rulings over rules" approach.

Interesting stuff.  It's both similar to a lot of recent OSR RPGs (in mechanics), but also contains details on a lot of things missing in those games.  I wouldn't run it 100% as written (who does?), but I see a lot more to like here than in other similar games.

Thank you, I appreciate it! If you ever play it, I would like to hear your feedback.

Would you be interested in scheduling a Q&A in Randomworlds, my friendly TTRPG chatroom?

Past guests include Kenneth Hite, Robin D. Laws, Greg Stafford, Greg Stolze, Marc Miller, Jonathan Tweet, Margaret Weis, Mike Pondsmith, Ken St. Andre, Peter Adkison, and Mark Rein•Hagen.

This is a free service, although tips are welcome at https://ko-fi.com/gmshoe.

Your Q&A will be promoted on my Facebook feed, at 13 Facebook groups -- 16 if it is a Kickstarter -- and on three major RPG web forums (TheRPGSite, RPGPub, and Enworld). In addition, the log of the Q&A will be maintained on my blog.

Here's the schedule: https://tinyurl.com/randomworlds-schedule

(The standard time slots are 7:30-9:30 p.m. Central every day of the week except where otherwise noted. However, I can also do Saturdays or Sundays at 1:00 pm Central.)

Here's the shortcut to the chatroom:

Here's my blog, where I save the Q&A logs: http://gmshoe.wordpress.com/

And here's the Q&A format: https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/qa-format/

I should also mention that game authors are always welcome to hang out with us and discuss their products, and we have quite a few authors who do so on a regular basis. A Q&A simply gives you the floor to yourself. Stop by and check us out! :)

On the "Into the Dungeon: Revived" web site's "Tools" page, there's a collection of scripts to automate some random table rolls, or simplify calculations. Let's go over them and try it all out (while illustrating random outputs).
