This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Rincewind1;502955Anything - it can be an adventure, it can be a list of plot hooks, it can be a table to generate magical swords, it can be an advice how to construct dungeon or how to be a good narrator, or it can be an article about Byzantine Empire and how to use it for RPG inspirations.

What length are you looking for?

Make it as long as you deem it necessary. And I really mean it - if by some smile of fortune I will have enough material to be picky, then perhaps I be grabbing scissors. But as it is, there's no such need so far.

Interesting. I might throw in a few tables I have in mind...

Glad to hear that, glad to hear that.

My friends from my gaming club will hopefully help a bit with the content - got at least a few roll calls from them. Translating will be a pain, but oh well.

After giving the issue some thought, I had decided to cut a bit on the chaotic nature of this work - here are the Chapters of the Game Master's Pride March that I hope to see - and I hope useful guidelines to what content I am looking for.

Without further ado, here are the Chapters' Outlines.

Chapter I - General GMing

As the name states, in this chapter will go all the advice directly related  to GMing - guides how to create megadungeons, tricks of the trade, suggestions how to deal with problematic players, world creation suggestions, etc.

Chapter II - The Fistful of Articles

The various articles that are not directly related to GMing, but also useful as a source of knowledge for bettering one's game (such as, for example, article about potential deadly mundane traps for dungeons) will go into this chapter.

Chapter III - A Few Adventures More

The chapter which is dedicated to various example adventures, scenarios, plot hooks - all  that a GM may need to get a game going with a bit of tailoring.

Chapter IV - The Great Generator

Here's where all  the random generation tables, as well as random content tables will go.

Chapter V - The Good, The Bad, and the Others

In this chapter go all the content that did not fit into any other chapter - example NPCs, example monsters, loose illustrations created to feed GM's imagination.

I might have time to do a quick essay on NPCs.
Its likely to veer into running games with lots of plot and intrigue.

60 pages content achieved - only 120 more, and we reach the minimum. Only 240 more, and we reach the maximum ;).

By the way - I have a small plea, if you may.

If you consider this a good idea - please post on your blogs/other forums you frequent/sites, etc. etc. about it. I got at least one great submission so far from the proverbial "Word of Mouth".

That's impressive speed, Rince - I still need to come up with something to chuck in!

I am trying, though so far most credits go to Werekoala ;). As I had written - I had some unexpected and quite good submission lately from someone that (I think) did not post on neither RPG.net nor here, that is why I am asking for spreading the news by the Word of Mouth/Blog as much as possible.

Back to managing the orcs now. Unruly bunch that they are.

I am more then pleased to announce that our fellow poster, StormBringer, stepped in to do all the worst work (becoming an editor and actually volunteering to do some work with, well, the PDF). Big bravo for the magnificent bastard :).

Thanks, Rincewind and Werekoala!  So far, the material is such good stuff, it will be a breeze to get it packaged for publication!

A bit of legal information - the GMPM document pdf will be released for free, on the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. All submissions accepted will be perceived agreed with such terms (I had e - mailed those who submitted already, to ask them, just in case, if they'd wish to withdraw their submission in event of such).

With little luck, we ought to get a sneak - peak from Stormbringer soon!

While I am slacking about, pretending to write material - you shouldn't (please?)!  There's still time to send new stuff, although we'd like to start wrapping things up slowly (otherwise I may have to rename this Game Master's Pride April, and that just doesn't ring such a nice bell).
