This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hi gamers!
have you already heard of #URBANHEROES?
It's a consciousness-blowing tabletop roleplaying game that, after a year from its creation, the authors, Alex and Matt, chose to submit their work to international audience giving it a chance through a Kickstarter project: http://kck.st/PweJ4N
The game is about superheroes, conspiracies, politics and contemporary pop culture set in the real world; the game system is simple but allows great character customization choices and it's completely original.
Most of the arts for the project are ready and come from a team of Italian all-star artist like Emanuela Lupacchino (Marvel, DC), Matteo Buffagni (Marvel, Diabolik), Elia Bonetti (Marvel, Radical Comics, Soleil Editions), Andrea Errico (Zenoscope), Manuel Bracchi (BOOM! Studios) and many other.
Technically speaking #UrbanHeroes uses every kind of dices, from D2 to D20, and allows the player to choose among 5 different Origins of Power: Genetic, Psionic, Magic, Divine and Carrier. Thanks to a detailed character generation (with life events, lifestyle choices, contacts and more) and an almost infinite combination of Powers, your H.E.R.O. can be fully customized becoming unique under every single aspect.
If you're interested in the project, wanna take part of it, want to ask questions, interview the creators of the project or just share it helping their dream come true please feel free to ask, #UrbanHeroes team is here for you!

Waiting for your feedback, best regards
A. Rivaroli

It all started a long time ago when things were simpler; these drawings you can see are the direct result of the early 90's comics' age and the enthusiastic mood of those superficial years.
I, Alex, started reading American comics at the age of 8 and at the same time my neighbor showed me the classic "red D&D box".
From that day I used to stroll to the local gaming/comic store hoping to get some of those beautiful geeky stuff: most of those products were imported here in Italy so I needed to learn english as soon as possible. Everything seemed so hard to understand for a boy, yet I couldn't get my eyes out of those entertainment-built dreamscapes.
Puberty stroke and as I discovered literature I sunk deep into the RPG world and my passion for comics kept rolling along.
Times were still hard here for gamers (bad translations or missing products) but with the advent of the Internet Era everything begun to be more reachable; soon university studies (literature as well) brought me back on my old forsaken works which compared to contemporary comics and games looked like a twisted Silver Age version of our world.
I wanted to make a simple yet complete rule system, fully capable of reflecting the social, psychological and political taste of our contemporary world. I felt like it was possible to sort out randomly every Power ever seen in a comic book, also focusing on small details and it seemed something hard yet epic to fulfill. I chose to develop something that could fit perfectly into the RPG players' needs like fast session-after-session advancement or the lack of hard calculation.
Progresses were made throughout the last 10 years but it was only in 2010 when I first showed the third home edition of Urban Heroes to Matteo Botti, old friend into the gaming sector with his association.
We dedicated our free time entirely to come out with an indie manual which got a very good fan comeback in Italy; unfortunately the odds were once again at the least weird.
The financial crisis mixed with a general discouragement in investing led us to a lonely road. If we wanted to keep Urban Heroes real we needed to look at the international market all by ourselves. Matt introduced me to the idea of crowdfunding (still something few people know here in our country) and it totally went along with my idea of launching our game.
We worked hard to gather international artists from the major comics productions and revised the original rules in order to bring forth an high quality tabletop RPG (‪#‎URBANHEROES‬) which is now on KickStarter for the world to see. It's not easy for an Italian author to get on this platform and it has been hell up until now for us too; we completely forgot about our lives in these first 20 days.
We are two young men trying to do what every other Italian RPG designer, editor, distributor is (wisely) afraid of: try and break through the hearts of the international audience with our game.
We bravely invested a lot; we did some years long work to improve the game; we will be the precursors for the italian game community.
With your help.
Riot now.

P.S. Here's the first sketches of the main characters of UH, please don't be too harsh, i was just a kid :) you can find 'em in our Facebook page.
