This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

CRUSADERS, the Superheroic RPG of the Super 80s is OUT!
« on: June 18, 2022, 06:52:38 AM »
From the makers of Mazes & Minotaurs...

CRUSADERS, the roleplaying game of superheroic action, takes you back to the 1980s, at the time of some of the most awesome comics epics ever published – but with a far simpler system than the great superhero RPGs of this glorious decade.

Leaving behind superfluous stuff like sub-stats, complex calculations or real-world physics, CRUSADERS combines genre emulation with old school spirit, using a simple, robust yet elegant D100-based core mechanic.

This 100-page rulebook includes (among other things) the description of more than 40 powers (with a myriad of options and possible refinements), GM-ing tips on how to create your own setting, sample villains and even some elegant optional rules for those who want to make their game grittier or more four-color!

So what are you waiting for, true believers? CHECK IT OUT on DrivethruRPG!

Would you like to do a Q&A on the game in Randomworlds, my friendly TTRPG Discord chat room? :)

Past guests include Kenneth Hite, Robin D. Laws, Greg Stafford, Greg Stolze, Marc Miller, Jonathan Tweet, Margaret Weis, Mike Pondsmith, Ken St. Andre, Peter Adkison, and Mark Rein•Hagen.

This is a free service, although tips are welcome at https://ko-fi.com/gmshoe.

Your Q&A will be promoted on my Facebook feed, at seven Facebook groups -- ten if it is a Kickstarter -- and on three major RPG web forums (TheRPGSite, RPGPub, and Enworld). In addition, the log of the Q&A will be maintained on my blog.

Here's the schedule: https://tinyurl.com/randomworlds-schedule

(The standard time slots are 7:30-9:30 p.m. Central, Monday-Thursday except where otherwise noted. However, I can sometimes manage other days or times with enough notice.)

Here's the shortcut to the chatroom:
http://www.tinyurl.com/randomworlds-discord

Here's my blog, where I save the Q&A logs: http://gmshoe.wordpress.com/

And here's the Q&A format: https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/qa-format/

I should also mention that game authors are always welcome to hang out with us and discuss their products, and we have quite a few authors who do so on a regular basis. A Q&A simply gives you the floor to yourself. :)

Well, I would be absolutely DELIGHTED!  Even though my experience with Discord is somewhat limited, I'm sure it will be OK :)  Thanks a lot for this wonderful opportunity.

I'm in France, so unless I'm mistaken I'm running 7 hours in advance of Central Time - so 7:30 / 9:30 pm would mean 2:30/4:30 am for me - a bit unpractical... but I'm sure we can work something out. Perhaps you could send me an email to discuss details & arrangements?  olegrand68@gmail.com

Definitely want to learn more about this RPG.

Olivier, could we get this a Print on Demand via DriveThruRPG? Or even better, on Amazon via their Kindleworlds POD service?

EDIT: also the quick preview on DriveThruRPG is very hard to read.

Hello Spinachcat!   :)

The POD option is "under examination"; apparently it does involve some serious reformatting and I'm not familiar at all with the procedure so right now I'm concentrating on the PDF version and its various forthcoming supplements. As for the preview, yes, I know (see the "Discussion" thread on the product page) which is why I've cooked up this larger PDF preview here:

Cheers (and Shield Wall!).

Hello everyone

Just a quick reminder I'll be this Sunday at 2 pm Central Time on Dan Davenport's Discord Q&A to answer questions about CRUSADERS. (see the message a few posts before this one)

"See" you tomorrow!  ;)
