This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Our own Dungeondelver does a regular livestream talking about old school gaming, it may interest some people. Today he had me as a guest, you guys can put a face to the nonsense posted here. It's on FB, but we use the tools we have. See here.
Rules for effective DMing:
1. Bring snacks.
2. The dice are always right.
3. I master the game, the game does not master me.
4. Momentum over perfection.
5. The game must go on!

Wastrel Wednesdays
Tomorrow, Bill and I will go live at 10am Australian EST and demonstrate that The Dice Are Always Right. We'll be rolling up and detailing a small adventuring setting designed for 1st level characters on up - entirely randomly, using the charts in the DMG.

Get your snacks ready to watch and get your nerd on!

This week we were supposed to talk about Classic Traveller, instead we got political, and talked about D&D's supposed anti-semitism. Not coincidentally, about solving out-of-game player problems in-game.

Watch and learn!

Next week, the wonder that is Classic Traveller.

In which we playtest Conflict a bit, Bill rolls up Lieutenant Walters, who is discharged from his service and while waiting for a bus gets into a brawl at the diner.

It was a bit slow because I was explaining things for the benefit of the audience.

I've already found a couple of things I'd like to change. The next stage is alpha testers - playing with me refereeing or playing - and after that, beta testers - playing without my being involved.

We'll be putting a call out for alpha testers soon.
