The very nyt article says to take it with a grain of salt. Novak talking to hukabee notes that hukabee denies the conversation. Novak only sourced one freaky evangelical who claims to have had a conversation with hukabee. Who won't even let Novak use his fucking name.

No, I didn't. No where did I state that this was the position of anyone but the "extreme wing" of the Evangelical movement.

But for that extreme wing, this position is utterly consistent with their behaviour thus far; the case in point being their unmitigated support for the state of Israel, a support that is borne not of any friendship with the Jewish race, but out their belief in a "biblical prophecy timeline" that ultimately includes the destruction of the Jewish race.
